New player raising chocobos

You can train them in the field but once they hit rank 10 or 20 (im not sure which) you need to feed them an item that can only be done from a stable to allow them to gain more ranks.

Unless its different for rank 10-11 unlock, from the later ones, then you can feed them the onions anywhere now. I fed mine one out in the field just last night to unlock rank 16 with no ill effects.
