Is the folklore system currently broken? (possible WARNING for fishing folklore)

I think the instructions were just unclear. The folklore allows you to fish ilvl 180 fishes at fishing holes we already got, for example the abalanthia book allows u to catch the last fishes at ''the Habisphere'' or ''the Flagship''. I don't think it adds any new fishing holes or new fish.

I saw someone posted a screenshot of a fish in the fishing log that stated it was connected to the local folklore, so it is not broken, but it lets you fish up the fish that you couldn't catch earlier.

Guys, you have to try something before you can call it a bug. The Dusk Leather comes from the Barrel Eye and is locked behind the Abalathian Spine book. It also requires fish eyes, and yes people are catching them now, although you'll need to be fully melded to succeed, and even then nowhere near 100%

They were calling it a bug because the descriptions for the items is completely wrong and flat out lies. It says that it adds new fishing locations to your log, not it "enhances current locations with new fish when using the Fish Eyes skill". If that's not a bug, then it's a drastic oversight on the dev team/translation team. I haven't built up enough scripts yet to get any of them, (I've been working on other stuff), but if I had and found out that the item just disappeared after use without doing what it says it's supposed to, then I would be quite upset as well.....

So that's how I expected it to be, water couldn't just magically appear when you use the book so that would be the only logical meaning for that book.

Ya sounds like it was moreso an issue of copy/pasta with the other gathering nodes which do ADD a new node location as well as show it through regional folklore. With fishing it appears that the (?) that are already preset in fishing holes just become obtainable but since there is no way to tell if a fish is missing or not it was hard to define since there was no proper visual cue for a Fishermen to know the book was actually working.
