no, your preference of GC is more important than playing with a friend? then obviously playing with them isn't important at all.

It's not. Though I'd prefer we all be able to be in the GC we wish & be able to play alongside each other that way.
I have left the GC I love to be in one I hate just to play with my friends; I hate that I felt forced/pigeon-holed into that decision in order to ally with my friends in PVP.
Please be careful not to draw such false assumptions.
Also, I wish that pigeon-holing on no one as I was forced to grind back up to r45 from scratch all over again just to play with my friends. It's idiotic.
Not only that, had to grind up GC ranks & do all their quests over & forfeit my ability to use my Maelstrom Glamours & so on so forth.

not forced at all. it's all your choice in the end.
it wasn't an assumption it was a statement.
wanna play with your friend? join their gc, problem solved. don't wanna change and being in yours is more important that is your choice still no problem except for people who want their cake and eat it too.
lucky for you, you can build it back up and wear it againmore important? go back to statement 1.

This makes me sad. As long as this GC restriction remains, PvP will be a non-factor and queues will remain long. Why even bother making new PvP stuff if you're not going to do away with this crippling restriction? Do they not realize that was a huge reason why their queues for PvP were an hour long? Yet they persist with this course...
/signed, /liked, etc.
Your two assumptions were:
1) that my preference of GC was more important than playing with a friend.
2) that playing with my friends, then, was not important at all to me.
Literally your words,
And I said "FEEL" forced "IN ORDER TO." It's important not to take phrases/sentences/words out of context. Please understand.

once again that is not an assumption, your thread is based on leaving a gc for your friends. if you left it to be with your friends there is no problem, won't do it? once again go back to the statement one.
feeling forced and being forced is two different things.
I do want to enjoy pvp, but the restrictions make it difficult. It is an entire aspect of the game I'd be willing to put time into, but as of right now, it's not worth the effort.
I can't play with friends in a different GC, the queues are ridiculous, having pvp locked to GC's is messy and detracts from an element of the game that players might enjoy if it was easier to do so.
I sign this thread.

I don't do or like PvP but I think I'd have to agree with this restriction being utterly dumb. First off there are the reasons the OP mentioned. You're the Warrior of Light, you actively help each and EVERY Grand Company regardless of your affiliation. I'm with the Order of the Twin Adder yet I've spent more time helping the Immortal Flames than I have my own company in the story. My Free Company is affiliated with the Immortal Flames yet again, I'm with the Adders. And secondly, there just isn't any valid reason I can think of why it should be restricted. Apparently World of Warcraft has announced you can fight on either side of the war as a mercenary.
That's right, a Human in the Alliance can go join the Horde in PvP. A Tauren can go fight for the enemy. I mean, if you can literally join your enemy's team in bloody combat, not a friendly competition mind you but a war, why can't you sign up for whatever team you want here?
