Fending vs. Slaying accessories at this point in the game

I've become convinced since heavensward that tanks just like to torment healers. I despise running dungeons on healer specifically because of tanks like this. 20% more incoming damage throughout the whole dungeon is incredibly stressful as a healer, and it forces me to do nothing but babysit the tank the entire run. Tanks don't need to stack all vit but for god's sake why do I have to play dungeons at peak performance like it's progression raiding just because the tank doesn't want to turn on a tanking stance. It would be nice if every tank played a healer first so they could see what it's like. At some point you're just being a jerk to your healers.

Show me your deeps and I'll keep tank stance for you. 95% of healers in DF just stand around picking their nose and throwing out a heal every 15 seconds... Sure sounds stressful. I'll happily grit for any healer that's DPSing properly. If I see you standing around waiting for my health to drop on the first mob, grit's coming right off.

And there you have it, stoxastic, is a prime example of why as a healer, and I can't stress this enough, I HATE tanks in this expansion. They all think they're super awesome amazing dps while every healer they get paired with is cursing their name behind their back. I refuse to run duty finder anymore on healer specifically because so many tanks think like this clown.

Yes I would suggest you not run DF as healer anymore either because then people can get a healer in their runs that's actually good.

My first 50 was WHM. Eventually came to enjoy SCH more SMN too, I have exp healing everything but fcob (and 3.0 obviously) for both heals.

Str tanking is really nothing more than just pushing the game to it's limits. And that isn't for everyone.

Str isn't really the problem I'm talking about. I actually use a lot of str gear on my tanks too cause I do understand the difference between mitigation and total hp. Really 10k hp maybe even less is more than enough in ex roulette if a tank knows what they're doing. What more has made me hate tanks is not gearing for str but tanks that are so much fail like stoxastic up there who can't even use their most basic tanking skill. Without tanking stance on healing a tank is pretty much as bad as healing a dps. Yeah I can do it but it's hell. In all the time I've done DF on my sch and whm I think I've been paired with one good drk, every other one was total fail. I cringe when I see a drk tank cause they're all like mr. fail up there. I get some bad plds and wars too but not nearly as many as drks.

Tanking stance is only the beginning though. There seems to be this mentality among tanks that if they merely survive the fight they're a good tank when that's not true. I can heal a massively undergeared tank because I know what I'm doing as a healer but that doesn't make the tank any less fail. So many tanks pull way more than they can handle, don't use cooldowns, tank in deliverance, sword oath, or with grit off, and other such garbage. If a tank wants to tank without their tanking stance on do that in a static but keep it the hell out of DF.

I'm not saying a tank shouldn't push their dps when appropriate, or never turn off their tanking stance or anything. But it would be nice if these tanks would turn off their god complex, stop for a moment and realize the universe doesn't revolve around them, and actually give some consideration to the stress their putting their healers under.

If mobs die quick enough then War at least has plenty of cds to survive without tank stance. Flash isn't very impressive with sword oath, I don't know about drk. I've seen my hp bounce around a lot tho, the sch I normally run with dps' hard so I'm always hanging by a thread, Holmgang saves my ass nearly every run at least once, and that's with tank stance, cds and 3/5 vit lol

He said he drops his tank stance if the healer doesn't DPS, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Even a PLD can jump from 350-400dps to 600-700+ dps swapping to Sword Oath. If you aren't going to carry your weight you should be glad the tank is willing to do it for you.

All of vengence? Look people can do whatever they want in a static I don't care. It's just annoying that so many tanks think it's their job to make every run as stressful as possible for their healers. Yeah who cares if the healer is pulling their hair out, it's all good cause the tank got to show off his epeen. There's a bit of a difference between trading some hp for damage, and requiring invincibility cooldowns to survive pulls.

If you are wearing str gear as a MT you should definitely be in tanking stance. The extra 40 - 100 dps isn't going to be more than what the healer can do by not having to babysit your health. Drks run around without grit and getting destroyed is one of the main reasons people think they are squishy.
