It's not that hard... it's just works the opposite way that it did in FFXI. Rather than leaders searching for party members, potential members search for available parties. Just like in FFXI, if you're not finding parties, start one of your own by using the recruit option.
I'm not saying that an alternative system wouldn't be better or that the current system couldn't be radically improved... but when people simply don't use the system and instead resort to either shouting, soloing, quitting , or forming LS-only parties, it's hard to put all the blame on the system... especially since hardly anyone ever tried using it in the first place.
Umm.... if you like being harassed every time you don a mage's weapon or slap on your bow and arrows... Personally, I don't. And, honestly, someone already posted a link to a much better proposal above, which would allow you to "lfg" on multiple jobs.
For me, I'll pass on the /sea all...
