I'm not sure how effective it is in hindering gold sellers since they seem to have no problem contacting people via /tell, as evident by the spam I consistently start getting within a few minutes after signing on if I forget to use /busy

I'd rather see something in place such as being able to send email to anyone but limiting it to x emails per hour. I tried sending an email to a FC leader to ask some questions about their group and it took a minute or two, plus some Google searching, to realize I couldn't send the message. I also can't contact the person via the forum since we can't send forum PMs.

I think restricting communication to this degree makes the game feel more anti-social.

If your already using /busy to avoid them I recommend instead just filtering /tells in your chat log. it prevents them from contacting you just as effectively but doesn't block group invites or trades so you can still do everything else and just not have to listen to the gilsellers

It hinders players purchasing gil. And allows them to more easily get a timeline.

They really need to allow you to send anything to anyone in your FC. I am actually hoping that this will be added to the FC Rank Perks sometime soon.

Oh and this also limits your ability to send mail to yourself. Which was a fundamental problem in FFXI where you could send yourself and your alt/mules mail and continually fill up their/your inbox and just "return to sender". I think I had over 300 items in my mailbox one day because I was lazy. That can't be good for servers.
