I seriously don't understand the hate towards FFXIII. I feel, and I'm probably hella right, like everyone just took what their favorite video game review site said about FFXIII and went with it along with all the other sheep out there. Final Fantasy XIII was great, innovative and pushed the PS3 to it's graphical limit. The story was great, the combat was great, and the challenge was great. There's no way EVERYONE that hates on XIII can have THE SAME thing to say about it unless of course, they all drink from the same punch bowl.

I ADORE Serah. She and Yuna are my favourite characters in the FF series.
I'd kill for her hair....but different strokes.
As for the original game....The biggest problem for me was def the amount of CS's. The game felt like it was playing itself.
It was great fun when I took control but every 5 seconds was a CS.
Steam download is 60gb...most of it is because of the CS. I'm non too fond of how they did the summons either.
Odin, Shiva and Alexander were fine...the rest were God awful.
FF13-2 is my 2nd fave game, 13-3 is the worst I ever played.

I just didn't like Lightening and Snow. I thought they were annoying personalty wise.

My deal was the story was so limp, it had great potential to be an amazing storyline with some dark twists but the plot plods along as predicable as can be. Keeping players in a tight corridor only to open up at the very end was a huge mistake as well. Characters fell flat and felt like other than the whole L'Cie thing they had no reason to have forward momentum, the titular character Lightning was the blandest of them all with Snow and Sahz having the most character but both playing such minor roles it's like they focused the game around a damn extra while the main character was wandering around elsewhere.

FFXIII's story is great, but why 'some of them' hate it? Because it's not PURE RPG anymore, what I mean here PURE RPG has MP, while magic usage in XIII are not using MP, instead added with the ATB itself.

Maybe because XIII is too linear, which they fixed the storyline in XIII-2 where you can go anywhere you want with Time Travel.

Talking about 'hates' - This also happen with FFVIII, there were controversy where magic method are using Draw/Cast.

Hard-core RPG player still looking for those MP-usage magic.
