Most fun DPS class? MNK/NIN or SMN/SCH

So I am new-ish to the game. I had a 34 THM last year but the repetitive combat plus other things in life ended up with me quitting. I tried to jump in on that character and couldn't get a handle on things, so I am starting all over!

Anyways! I am torn between leveling up a Monk and a Ninja, or a Summoner and a Scholar. I would've posted this in a general class forum if there were one since this includes a healer class, but primarily I enjoy DPS anyways. In past MMOs I have been casting DPS - Hunter in WoW and Wizard in EQ and EQ2. I also played a Mystic in EQ2, which was a healer with a shield system kinda like that used in Dragon Age Inquisition. I really enjoyed the preventative healing, but I am a damager dealer at heart.

I am basically looking for a fun class that is challenging. I work a lot and can't play too much, so it can't be insanely complicated. Just fun to play but also makes me think!

I like NIN but not MNK too much. With SMN/SCH you get the two roles in one deal, one healer and one DPS. I don't really love SMN but SCH is a lot of fun to me. If you like pure power..then... actually, with the buffs to SMN I understand their power has gotten very large. With their AOE bursts they can do some serious damage.

NIN hits fast, with Huton up they have the fastest attack speed.

Even though you don't have much time to play I suggest trying everything out until about level thirty or so- it'll give you an okay look at the basics of each class, and it shouldn't take too long. Play the one you feel you like the most.

honestly i would recommend you get blm leveled up since it's actually what you described, blm gets a lot better at 50 then even more fun at 60 but since it's not an option anymore, I would say go for err smn/sch.

I have BLM at level 50....but then I switched to Ninja now level 55 and I haven't gone back, fast paced combat with ninja flips and comboing....and ninjitsu! Not to mention holy crap the Ninja has mad deeps while still being fun to play. o.o

3 SMN 1 BLM Alex2 farm, holy crap I've never seen mobs die so fast. It was like being lv60 in a lv50 dungeon lol (plus the 2 sch were dps'ing)

Just my personal ranking of fun-to-play DPS:

1) Drg
2) Mnk
3) Blm
4) Brd

I just personally dislike SMN and NIN. Also I don't have any dps to 60 yet since I main War, so I'm not sure how the new skills feel personally (a lot of rage on forums about bard changes).
