Why should this even be a consideration? Players with houses already have houses; they don't need to be catered to and coddled any more than they already are. If SE releases Ishgard housing (which they've said they have no plans to) the only method that should be made available for "transferring" is abandoning your old house and buying the new one. Present housing owners get far enough preferential treatment as is; they don't need any more.

    Lemme just...drop this here...http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...=1#post3128944

    #64 clearly has your answer.

It's a consideration because they realize that people who drop 50 mil on a house and would like to move to a brand-new area should probably need to be considered. Or no option can be implemented? They can just buy another house and then someone can have 2 houses. Pick which you prefer.

This I agree with completely. I imagine a lot of people wouldn't mind houses not being available if they could build an airship at their local airship port in the cities. Choco dyeing could be available at the actual choco stables in the cities as well. Gardening done in instances at the Botanist guild. If they tied in housing things to actual other areas, housing would be less of a thing.

Why? They knew exactly what they were buying when they spent that money; if they are not satisfied with the value of their purchase, why did they make the purchase in the first place?

What are you talking about? It's not anything even close to not being satisfied with the value of the purchase. Are you being daft on purpose?

When a new area is created, it's only good business to think that people with houses want to get a piece of that too WITHOUT buying ANOTHER house. Or worst yet, just buying another house on top of the one they own just because it's Ishgard. It's SE precisely recognizing that people value their houses but also want to enjoy newly created areas. To help alleviate the burden (because SE knows the houses are expensive) they would rather create a system to make it so that people can move rather than just kill the plots.

I myself thought about Ishgard housing back when it wasn't a thing and knew that buying a whole new house for the FC after abandoning the one we currently have was not going to happen. I'm not like some people who literally have 3-4 houses all by themselves.

Once again, it's not a matter of me knowing the value of my purchase, it's about SE realizing that old house owners would want to go to Ishgard too and they aren't limiting us. They know that houses are not disposable to a majority of those who purchase them.

Speculation abound, we have no idea if this treats the plot like normal or resets the value of it to its highest price either. So if someone left, you now have to pay the highest price for a house. If they moved and the plot remained the same, it benefits all.

While this may not be an update that YOU in particular see any merit to, SE is taking a step to improve housing in a different way. As I said before, it sucks that they aren't adding in new wards/plots every five seconds for the droves of people that will just quit in a week, but stop being obtuse to the benefits of this in general.

Should you ever get a house and some new expansion came out with a new ward and you wanted to move, you would love to take advantage of the Moving feature rather than pay 5-50 mil all over again. Don't lie and say you wouldn't.
