I never had a problem keeping tanks alive in that dungeon or any others, even with the ones that pulled without protect on... those are the worst. Anyways, I had lvl 130 globe though. So maybe getting a higher lvl weapon will ease things for you. Also don't feel so bad, I am pretty sure it was mostly his fault. He should've checked your gear to see if big pulls was plausible. He also probably didn't use CD's... most tanks I've seen in dungeons are really bad at that.

That or the mobs weren't dying fast enough. This happens too and will drain your MP like crazy. How comfortable of them blaming you when it's a team effort and healers are no gods, they can't keep everyone alive if they don't do their part.

I dunno, I really can't stand tanks that do things like this. I had one that had a cleanse macro that would countdown and then request that I cleanse a poison or something off of him. Like can you not? I'm fully capable of watching that debuff/buff bar of yours and cleanse it as soon as I can. You don't see people telling dps to do this and that so why do some tanks have such insane control issues over their healers?

Sometimes poison isnt even worth cleansing, just throw a hot on them and it counter acts the poison. Youll find yourself cleansing the same target 10 times because the poison keeps getting reapplied, i think thats probably the most annoying thing lol

At this point - as much as it might hurt your confidence further - the simplest thing to do is just queue Al Soma again and see if you have a repeat with a new tank. This will determine if the issue was you, or the tank, or maybe even a combination of both of you.

Don't be afraid to fall. We all had to begin somewhere and we've all had some pretty terrible mistakes in our healing career.

3rd page and I am not sure if anyone has actually mentioned the possibility that it was his fault... I know it's a healer forum but cmon, we are not all perfect. He also is using an i115 weapon - which while it can definitely be done, does not leave much room for error and will require aggressive healing.

These forums can be a little harsh-- try not to let that get to you too much, if nothing else, you're seeking to improve.

Now then-- as mentioned, the other healers are powerful enough that they can get by while lacking a bit in the gear department. AST just does not have the room.

Focus on your weapon most of all. That 'attack' stat actually not only affects healing, it has way more impact than any other stat. Including MND. So get that up to date and you should feel the difference.

Then work on your other slots; the difference isn't as dramatic but it's nonetheless important. Good luck.

I kinda want someone to post a tank complaint thread from the PoV of a healer on Reddit lol. I just am not going to do it myself. But there's been a bunch of threads on Reddit like that lately - one complaining about ranged dps standing too far away, another today from a tank complaining about melee dps stacking on top of him and getting hit. We healers need a thread of our own and I would gladly contribute lol.

Before you feel disheartend, Please try the dungeon again w/ friends or FC mates. Some tanks are harder to heal when you weren't prepared. ^_^

I remember Sohm Al. I find it's quite brutal at the start if you don't kill those flowers that spawn the exploding poison bombs. When I first went in as a i130 DRK I didn't have any problems with staying alive, but I definitely had to burn cooldowns and minimising the poison and getting to the plants first made quite a bit of difference in making it easier to stay alive on my second run.

So I wouldn't say it could totally be your fault but it is quite a bit of a shock to go from facerolling all 50 content and entering Sohm Al where things actually hit quite hard.

Because I like berserk macros. Sometimes I have trouble noticing the pacification debuff until it's almost over anyways.

if you aren't aware, when that cd wears off they can't use weaponskills for 5 seconds. an be annoying and can be dispelled.

It's pretty easy to see when a tank or anyone else has a debuff. If you're actually looking at the party window it's right next to their HP bar and all debuffs have a certain look to them so they stand out. And hopefully any healer at 50 or above knows by now what each icon means...
