You cannot acquire folklore items with Scrip gear alone, your stats will be too low for any gathering class.

Nope, you can get the collectables needed with NQ lvl 55 items from churning mist npc/job quest rewards items. The only trouble maybe will be jewerly, but lvl 50 stuff is fine with just normal meld if you need Gath or Perc. (or well if you have a supra/foragers gear have no trouble at all). And food, npc food from foundation is good too .

Fisher need mostly pray for good RNG, and on BTN/MINER there are good rotations, though you may just be getting one collectable per time.

I think he means gather from legendary nodes, not get the collectibles for the books.

Yeah you're not understanding what I'm trying to say Zorlinta.

You will realize when you get to the legendary nodes that require folklore tomes. It is impossible to gather them with just Scrip gear.

As you can see from my earlier post simply having the 55 NQ equipment items is not enough. And level 50 equipment most certainly isnt. (lucis aside)
I've seen a lot of posts claiming this, but im not certain how you can argue against hard facts.

Reaching the required stats requires some melds (perception or gp) and using food (perception or gp, the one you didnt meld). The further away from 60/59 (for the tools) you are, the more melds you would need.


Please dont give the false advice that ''NQ equipment will be enough'', but rather give actual tips that will help someone that is struggling to obtain scrips.


Personally it annoyed me to hell to have people say ''its easy to collect scrips'' except I couldnt, not untill I did some heavy gear upgrades. I didnt have anywhere near the required perception level, and it would have saved me some frustration if someone had pointed this out.

As fisher the only trouble i have was getting the gobling jig lure & get into a good pool to can fish because i was low on MSQ compared to my fisher level.

I begin with melded fisher set and lucius weapon, but thar was lvl 50-53, also equipment i got from job quest were better than what i was wearing, so im switched to it, also replaced my overmelded gather/perception battle jewerly for some HQ lvl 50 and some NQ lvl 54 (wich have same stats with mats i had) to improve my gp and can use patience.
By the time i was level 58 and got a goblin jig & get into pool to fish with those new equipment, got no troubles in obtain 2 or 3 fish collectables per game day to exchange into scrips.

For fisher though gathering helps to catch the fish (but get away probability allways exists), and perception helps to get it hq but also is a good RNG chance involved. With new skill patience probability to get HQ improves (also the probability to get a good collectable item). So with food with extra perception and new skills (some cordials may help).

I suspected as much. Fishers tend to forget that fishing and botanist/mining work quite differently.
