I liked him, and he seemed to be learning something from the journey by the end of the MSQ.

Assuming they're gonna play into the Kain thing (party member lost because his mind was taken over by something else), he'll probably fight for control and win. I'm just hoping that just like Kain, he comes back to the fold. Maybe have him do actual justice to that dumb holy dragoon thing the FFIV sequel tried to do.
