They should really let us store all the green and blue items we find in the armory chest to get them out of our inventory. There isn't much of a reason not to acquire a piece of equipment other than our currently limited inventory space. It might be better if these types of items can be returned at any time, for maybe 1/2 the original tomes. That way you could spend them towards outfitting a class you don't play as much. It's true that you can trade them in for GC seals, but there's sooo many
ways of getting those already. As often as we seem to "outgrow" equipment in this game it seems like a good option.

Good or not, do we really need it?
Even if by any odd chance people buy the wrong item (despite the popup window they clearly ignored) its not the end of the world to reobtain the stuff needed.
We dont really need to be spoonfed and if theres a risk of making mistakes people tend to be alittle more careful.
This is a thing, that I've used its just well hidden. Basically I had to throw the item away and call a gm, they then checked the item was bought by mistake and sent the correct one via mogmail.
This was in 2.0 with mythology gear though.
You may still be able to do it, I don't know. The instructions were in the help desk.
It really is, deciding it wasn't the best upgrade after the fact still your mistake. If you've played WoW, you know what I mean. You save up your poetics/law/whatever, buy a piece, and have 2 hours to return to item and get a full refund. I know there's a confirmation dialogue for buying stuff, but this isn't really about mistake purchases, just about realizing the piece you bought wasn't the best upgrade and you'd like to go for another one.
Of all the other systems FF14 stole from WoW, why not this one?
Yes you are able to do this, but its a one time thing only. This is a thing, that I've used its just well hidden. Basically I had to throw the item away and call a gm, they then checked the item was bought by mistake and sent the correct one via mogmail.

I would like this. But even more than this, I would like to see the ability to buy multiple items at once. If I want to buy nine Peacock Ore from the Grand Company vendor, I shouldn't have to make nine purchases. Items bought with gil can be purchased as multiples, items bought with other currency should be no different.
Also, if resale IS offered for Tomestone items and such, it should also be available for items bought with gil. Sure, there's not much that can be bought with gil that will harm you too badly financially if you screw up, but hey, as long as we're adding one, why not the other?
*Buys 99 Abalathian Mistletoe* Oh, crap, I needed Dravanian Mistletoe! Well, that sucks.... Hope this stuff sells well on the AH.
I honestly hated when they added the 2 hour return thing. Sure, it sucks to buy a piece of gear and get an upgrade moments later...but such is RNG. Rather than complain why not just say 'well gee, that's unfortunate luck' equip your upgraded upgrade, and resume playing?
once that timer got put in on WoW, the over-entitled bull started and it just went downhill from there. I hated that more than anything.
I've bought tome gear I didn't need before. Never have I thought, "Well damn, why can't I get a refund?!" I HAVE thought, "Well damn, lets see if I can turn this in for seals... no, why not?!" I don't care about the lost tomes, I can get those back easy. But having a means of getting rid of tome gear that isn't /discard is pretty lame. So what if the 'exchange rate' isn't 1:1, just let me get rid of the stupid things. "But who uses seals, I want my tomes back!" Then go spam dungeons, you'll even get gear you can turn in for seals, or sell if it's Low Level Roulette.
