It would be interesting if 3.X to 4.X era had the WoL fight Primal versions of the Twelve.

Making them unique to FF14 and adding them into the Summon family tree of FF series.

As far as I remember there was a prince that managed to escaped the massacre and I think is hiding within a Monk monastery out in the mountains.

Who knows if he'll have a role in the plot, maybe he leads the resistance there?

Depends if the Monk monastery is abandened or belongs to the Sec of Darkness.

After all Widargelt is the only known Monk of the Sec of Light that escaped while everyone else in the Sec of Light died during the invasion. It is only now in 3.0 that Widargelt has managed to rebuild The Fist of Rhalgr.

SPOILER for MNK 3.0 Job storyline....

The Sec of Light supported the Ala mhigo government so it would be understandable if there are possible suriviors of the Sec of Light protecting him. However, the Sec of Darkness are against supporting the Ala Mhigo government and were sent into exile by them. It isn't until Widargelt and his new apprentices united the two Sec of the Order at the end of MNKs 3.0 Job storyline when they would begin working together for the sake of their homeland Ala Mhigo
