While I think the others have made a favorable argument for why it just wouldn't work out if we did, I would opt to join. It is a position of power and power is neither good or evil. With the power the position afforded me I could effect change and possibly neutralize some of the power that Lolorito and his sympathizers hold.

And for the same reason we would be no good at this, Minfilia is great in the same sort of position. She's the CEO, the negotiator(we saw that Alphinaud kinda failed in the position), the manager of the team. So what she doesn't fight; she does something just as important.

My personal preference for neutralizing Lolorito's power is a bullet to the head. Even if the Admiral and Limsa stopped supporting me, I can stand to be a refuge in Ishgard for the rest of my life. I like Anx Trine pretty well, and there's plenty of uninhabited ruins in the Churning Mists I could take over and call my own, even if I did have to deal with the Moogles....
