I think it's also important to point out that many people (from what I have seen) tend to confuse the word "sexualized" with the word "feminine."I love boobs as much as the next guy, but it gets to the point of insulting when game companies assume that's all we care about. Sure T&A isn't completely absent, but neither is it at annoying levels.
Arguably the best-looking female is Hilda. Beautiful without having to be revealing. Lucia wears full armor when female knights of other RPG's would be lucky to get even half the armor Lucia does.
If only the world worked that way ; ;
The loudest voice will always be money as in what can SE put into games that will make the most of it. If players want sexy NPCs then you can bet SE and any other developers will put them in for that extra buck.
People need to get over sexuality as taboo. Oversexualizing is in your head, exploitation is a real thing but these aren't real people nor is it really promoting sexual exploitation. It's not to say that violence and sex in videogames have no impact on us but there's little evidence to support they have a major negative impact. I guess unrealistic levels of cheesecake can break immersion but in a game with the word fantasy in the title I feel it takes a lot to do that.
I also find it funny that lately there's just a ton of guys that are acting like these white knights against oversexualization when I'm sure none of them ever look at pornography.

Wait a sec, you think Garuda and Siren are cute? /surprised
Hah, yeah. Not surprised SE has trouble with this. Feels like Japanese artists in general fall prey to that 'female monster = pretty, male monster = monster' trope on a far more frequent basis than Western artists do. That moe craze is likely a huge factor in that. What a shame.
Not all primals are monsters. Shiva was an Elezen, so I don't think she is a monster, and also those 12 knights, aren't monsters too.
If You want some monstrous and grotesque looking female monsters then try Bloodborne, there are plenty of them, and it's a Japanese game.
Forgive me, I wasn't referring to what she was talking about being creepy. I meant she creeped me the **** out.Isn't that the girl that was notably popular popular on 4chan..? Not exactly the person you want to get morals from considering well.. 4chan.
Anyways, we're expecting an adult woman in real life wearing a "Sexy outfit" has made that decision of her own will, because well, she's capable of wanting things herself, she's an adult. A video game character is not, nor ever able to express themselves, hence why sexualization of women NPCs (Especially when the men NPCs don't get the same treatment) is creepy and irritating, and should be avoided when it clearly doesn't make sense (Because then it gets tacky and a little gross).
lol they all run around with barely no clothes onI love boobs as much as the next guy, but it gets to the point of insulting when game companies assume that's all we care about. Sure T&A isn't completely absent, but neither is it at annoying levels.

I am glad SE gives us a choice. While most people dress up their female characters in skimpy outfits, I tend to go for the more masculine look, usually decking my characters out in heavy armor. I used the Divine War set for ages in ARR and am now using the level 58 tank set.
Oversexualization refers to the media's attempts to make a woman a sexual object without giving much care to her personality. She is there to be eye candy and that's about it; if she isn't a sex object she usually isn't important. Skimpy dressing can also really take away from a character (for example imagine if Merlwyb went around in a bikini all the time, or if Luvia was wearing the Coliseum Galerus set.....yeah it doesn't make any sense and makes it pretty clear sexy is more important than actually being protected).
??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????It's not to say that violence and sex in videogames have no impact on us but there's little evidence to support they have a major negative impact.
Porn is there for sexual pleasure. I'm not playing my video game in order to masturbate to every girl that walks by.I also find it funny that lately there's just a ton of guys that are acting like these white knights against oversexualization when I'm sure none of them ever look at pornography.
As for the OP, it's pretty clear he's commending SE for making a diverse range of armor from skimpy to fully clothed and not making every NPC a stripper from the Miner's guild. Which is good. People have the choice to dress skimpily or not. Which is good.
