^_^; I actually really like the Holy Rainbow shirt for my casters. It's a reskin of gear already in the game, true, but it's not a gown or robe. So if I don't have my weapon out, one look at my gear doesn't shout "That's a caster/healer." I've always been irritated that DoW get gear that IMO looks so much cooler than DoM, but there's at least this shirt now.
The Great Straw Man appears again!Indeed.
Well, apparently the common wisdom is that any female character running around in anything that deviates from the conservative/demure/classy/covering classification is suspected of being a GIRL (Guy In Real Life). Also, the use of bikini armor, or short skirts is - from what I can gather in these topics and discussions - essentially a 100% confirmation of a GIRL playing a girl...and an affront to right thinking males, and all females besides. God help me, Kos wears a bikini a lot, as does my partners avatar. At least one of us is female in real life, and neither of us has a problem with the bikini clad Miqo'te.
If you wish to learn more, I will point you to a previous post I made on the topic.
Different people have different thresholds for their suspension of disbelief.
What's difficult to understand about that?
I mean, if you have people engaging in mortal combat and one person is wearing full body armor and the other is wearing a bikini... how is it not natural for someone to question how the person wearing the bikini isn't getting scratched to hell and back? That's something you learned to accept and suspend your disbelief on. Not everyone is like that.
I feel like I need to post this comic here:

It seems to me like you treat your character more like an idol.As a male player i always created female character who matches my female's fantasy.
Strong, sexy & feminine, but sexually desinterested.
Seriously it's sso weird to create character that looks like ourself XD
I already know what is a wonderful man ! i'm one ! So i play a super woman to change ! And i'm not gonna make her wear a yellow anorak because it's raining in the game. She's half nude and the best warrior ever !
Which is fine, really, just so long as you understand that not everyone regards their characters the same way. And that this type of thinking really should not be applied to NPCs.
Personally, I find the dichotomy between "sexy & feminine but sexually disinterested" to be a real head-scratcher, but then again, the whole thing about idols is that they're something you admire but never touch anyway, so I suppose I will just have to accept that the appeal will forever be lost to me.
To be honest, I would be much happier without boobs. But I don't want to be a walking popoto, so....
Malwarebytes blocking a Russian site! Say it ain't so! I am not surprised. There's nothing wrong with that site. It's been the host to all things Tera armour for years.
Even the known whm show more skin than most of the healing set we get
Personally I don't mind cleavage and bare midriffs. I don't mind slits up the back or side of skirts. These things don't bug me in the slightest.
What I *do* dislike, is the bra/panties/bikini/booty shorts thing that you see occasionally.
You know what though? It's a personal preference. I don't use them. Fine by me. Someone else wants to? Great.
Now when that's all that's available.. I have a problem with it. Luckily here, there's no issue.
Now games like EQ2.. where all the robes made me look like I belong in a convent...
http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/ShivaOr even give us something along the lines of Shiva. Shiva is downright beautiful.
You realize in most of the games she's almost naked, right?
I completely agree with the OP. There's enough half naked players running around. I enjoy multiple forms of beauty, not just the "have naked stripper" type. For reference though, my two favorite female characters in this game are...
...Hilda in terms of raw appearance, (though her accent is a bit off putting), and Y'shtola in terms of secondary appearance, personality, and just because she was the first member of the Scions I met, (not counting my brief encounter with Thancred as a THM back in the PS3 beta)......
