Will we ever see Ranger or Samurai?

I know I won't get a direct answer from Yoshi, but I was hoping for a little tease at least? what does the community think about this?

I absolutely loved those classes in FFXI and I would ditch my BRD for RNG almost instantly....

Also... we could really use another two-handed melee DPS class in my honest opinion, especially for those of us that don't like Dragoon or were dissapointed with DRK being a tank. (I like DRK as tank now, it grew on me)

I'll be honest, I do have hopes for Samurai but I base that off of the first level 60 dungeon. The first boss, his movements, his stance remind me of a Samurai, but I could also just be overly hopeful. I do agree I would love an actual sword class that didn't involve tanking. Redmage is probably my last hope if they include rapiers.

Ranger? Probably no. A mobile ranged DPS just won't work in the game. Which is why BRD and MCH both now have cast bars even with lower overall DPS.

Samurai? Maybe it'll be the next tank job (they said the 3.0 tank was either going to be DRK or SAM, and they chose DRK, so please look forward to it)

Ranger? Probably not. They gave BRD a dps LB and since their is no support role Ranger would just be a more dps bard? Samurai probably in 4.0 I would assume since thats the job talked about when it was between DRK and SAM

I sure hope Samurai is a DPS and he doesn't decide a shogun-style tank

I think there are too much fanboys concerning Samuraï.
The fact that the Dark knigh is a tank is the only thing that keep it from being overused by all the "kenny" of the game (hard work, stress etc...)
If you make something as popular as a samuraï in dps class, there would be a monstrous rush on it.

i could actually see Ranger happening with Crossbows, perhaps. FF doesn't seem to have too many jobs they could feasibly make ranged dps/mage dps, i don't think they'd throw away ranger just because another class is using bows. having said that though, i'm not really sure what ranger would do different than brd.. the archer class is essentially ranger, honestly.

Most likely Samurai for 4.0 since they already mentioned it and the concept for what SAM could be is already in processing.

Ranger is most unlikely since a pure mobile DPS Job is something that want to avoid due to balance issues with trying to prevent it from becoming the "perfect" DPS Job that outshines all DPS Job in everything. Not to mention Bard already cover that role.
