Fixed it a bit. It is about the old maps after all.
Maybe they could make Sprint usable on ground mounts? I mean, if your riding a horse you can make them go their fastest for a brief period of time. I think applying Sprint would keep them from seeming too ridiculously fast, while keeping a realistic feel. :x

the fun thing is some of the old maps would work well with flying,
S thanalan E thanalan E shroud Outer Lanoscea north la noscea (camp bronze lake) coerathas central, hell when you think about it the old zones are smaller but quite a few of them are on the bigger side. but i think the requirement should be all zones in HW unlocked to do a quest to unlock aether currents in the old zones,

You can't see them, and they block your movement. Isn't that the very definition of an invisible boundary? Until you've unlocked flight on the map, they are there to impede your progress and stop you getting to places. There are tons of these invisible boundaries on all maps to stop us going places we shouldn't be, even though in some cases a simple jump would suffice. Try jumping on a flaming torch to name but one.
Really? So the big unexplored area to the North of Tam Tara Deepcroft is fully modeled is it? It can't be seen from most angles, since there's a tall cliff on all sides, so there's literally no point to modeling the 'roof' of that area.
Do you just not understand how games are made? How they carefully remove things which aren't going to be seen so that things run smoother? No? How about the fact that most of the known areas have sheer cliffs on all sides and no scenery beyond them (you can check yourself by clipping the camera through certain walls) because it wasn't meant to be seen? Now add flight to the mix. It doesn't matter that you might not be able to PASS those cliffs, because thanks to flight you can see OVER them regardless. That's still extra work needed for the backdrop alone.
Sheesh, at least acknowledge you have a basic understanding before telling me I'm making stuff up.

I still want them to re-work the old areas and let us fly.
It's a hard work? yes, and it's their job. we're paying them to develop this game for us.

But i want them to develop forward into new areas, not backward into old areas. For every old area they would rework there will be 1 new area less in the next expansion.
I'd love to have a ground hover mode in general for the flying mounts... just feels nice gliding along the ground - just as a general option and it could work on all areas while full flight would be just in the new ones.

Ya I was surprised to see this in the last letter, because it was completely opposite what he had said several months ago. I wish he'd acknowledge he already said that would increase the speed, then decided against it for whatever the reason was.
Adding any conditions to increase mount speed in old maps is stupid. There are people who are still leveling up in them, to add conditions that new players have to meet in order to get an increased mount speed is really unfair. Fates up, fates gone, fates up, fates gone, ect....

That's a bit of an exaggeration, it's not like they would be starting from scratch when reworking the old areas. Maybe for every 3 or so areas they update we'd get 1 less new area, maybe...
