He literally watched Ishgard betray the dragons due to a lust for power and jealousy, killing one of his sisters and nearly killing a brother, and destroying all that his beloved worked hard to create. I really don't blame him for being mad in the least, especially considering how he takes mercy on some random Elezen (Iceheart) and doesn't seem to mind the Races of Man too much.
