    you have a difference between CT unforgiving mechanic and the one in A4, actually it's not even unforgiving mechanic, it's the damage output from the different mechanic that make it quite a trouble.
    let's take the last boss of CT1 as example, the unforgiving mechanic was get onto the plateform for erect the barrier and survive the attack of the boss
    for the second boss of CT2 it was get the robot in position for be able to flee the main area and survive.

    the difference was in CT: "if you don't do this... you are dead!"
    in A4 the trouble is you are not dying immediatly, it will slowly drain you until death, is not different of torture, the worst come from the fact that it can't be avoided. if one healer have a bad connection, you can't pass p3, my sister is playing healer and while i know the fight as ninja, i did look her do it as healer and it was insane. it's not like the group was bad, but if you have a person a bit slow, it's simply impossible.

    It is NOT Discoid which causes the damage, it's the follow up special attack after called Perpetual Ray.
    The end result is the same. See Discoid cast > pop cooldown. If you use your cooldowns properly and the DPS is on point, you don't even need to tank swap for it. Our Warrior ends up being Quarantine bait/DPS the entire fight.

    Most of the better players probably got their loot in the first couple days, now you are stuck with a lot who took it slower or couldn't clear. It's quite rough to heal. I had a group the other night where Superman Wartank would blow all his cooldowns being a hero and grabbing all the balls, then getting destroyed by Discord. The group would also let the heals take multiple lasers while in Judgement. And not pick up the adds. This is what you are left with later in the week.

    It mostly the lack of gear in the groups I'm in to handle the large amount of damage being dished out on the group as a whole.

    usually once a player starts dying from the final phase it leads to a chain of death result in a group wipe since Healers run out of MP to survive the remaing amount of HP the boss has.

    We did 2 Whm's throughout Alex no problems with no Brd's, with 2 Drk's.

    The biggest problems we had were with the extra DPS we had to pick up from DF/PF (went in mostly premade FC). Not picking up adds. Not killing adds. Not following mechanics.

    People want to ignore adds and mechanics because they've been able to for so long in other dungeons/raids. Not any more.

    I finally cleared Alexander 4 today!

    First que of the day and I managed to get a great group to run with in A4 and we cleared it! No wipes, no one dying, we did it all in the first run (though we did have a slight misstep nearing the end of P2 with the second leg with the adds, but we quickly recovered from it) and we hardly had any problems. It was a perfect run and this is how this fight should play out! Everyone played their roles correctly handling the mechanics and it became easier, all those days playing A4 and wiping on it trying to beat it paid off as most people know have a better grasp of the fight.

    And it was FUN! Not a chore or aggravation, but fun beating the boss and its mechanics and I overall enjoyed the team work everyone displayed in the fight. Everyone was in sync with each other and I love when everyone plays like a team player (especially those two WHM, they were awesome keeping everyone up and hardly wasting MP) and I love it when I see people working together. We hardly had to say a thing in the fight and we were total strangers but it did it like we were a static group. Now I just wish 80% of the time or more people could work together like this especially in raid as it's always fun and delight to see people strive towards a goal together. It makes the fights more fun and enjoyable like that.

    Now Savage Mode is going to be a nightmare for a lot of players if they add in new mechanics and higher damage output. I can't imagine how their sanity will last.

    Well the reason is kinda.. simple. Anyone who wanted to clear it cleared it on first 2 days to catch the "better wave" of people. Not many people are left now in my opinion.

    I have yet to clear this in DF with pugs.

    I've run with my FC for it, but we cleared it once and I didn't get a drop so I have to keep going at it today or I lose it this week. :/

    Having the healers grab orbs is an awful idea. It might seem fine until you get the nasty RNG which tags them with a laser right after grabbing orbs. Dead.

    I don't understand why people would want to subject their healers to mechanics that can kill them instantly.
