Various 1.0 Scenery and Main Cities, Main Character NPCS, Monsters and Bosses

Have some pics of 1.0 Coerthas and various other things from 1.0 on my lodestone blog. I just use it for pictures.

Hope you find one of Coerthas you like^^ Definitely my favorite area in that version. Hell every inch of Eorzea in 1.0 I worshiped. The lighting engine is made of magic. May not have been realistic lighting, but I feel that the saturation, color dodge and burn fx or whatever they used for the super vivid colors radiating off everything was what gave 1.0 the Magic and made that world feel alive. I felt the lighting was like the Twelve glowing and shining through the objects and beings of the world. 3.0 kinda brought some aspect of the technical side of the lighting back but the vividness and glow, the Magic and aethereal shimmer to everything isn't yet back.

I actually really hated V1.0's lighting, because it was all self-lighting, so at night it made people glow blue, and in side people glowed red. It was quite honestly just one of the bullet points that reflect how poor V1.0 was
    eg:
    - Poor lighting
    - Copy-paste scenery
    - No hardware cursor (at launch)
    - Exceptionally slow combat
    - Certain jobs (eg archer, conjurer) that were ranged were still being hit by melee attacks despite how far away they were
    - Crafting and gathering was incredibly RNG-based to the frustration of many
    - The bots... so many unchecked bots... and the levequest chaining they did to powerlevel through content.
    - The completely horrible retainer and market system

Add to that the storyline may have been fine, but the connecting quest chains were aimless, (much worse than ARR) so the it was often difficult to figure out what you were supposed to be doing, resulting in players giving up before even getting to the dungeons.

FFXIV V1.0 was only better in two ways:
    1) The opening quest chains were better and more epic, with much nicer cutscenes
    2) The starter quests before joining the path of twelve actually had a storyline-purpose (Where as in ARR, they don't... they just send you places to unlock the aetherytes, and that's it.)

Much of the scenery was not great, and full of copy-paste. Nearly all the camps were identical.
