Will the Lightning or Shantotto events ever return?

Probably because it wouldn't make sense with FFXII and FFXIV's lore. If it were just glamour stuff, sure, but characters themselves? It would need to make sense for both games (and Ivalice is not on Hydaelyn).

If shantotto can do it then I'm sure they can do it. The story and lore is so similar between both games that it would be an easy fit. I'm sure magicite is powerful enough to be capable of such things. Plus they already have the bunny outfit in the gold saucer. There can be a funny misunderstanding between the people of eorzea and Fran based off this.

Jeez, give me a break. The only people who keep saying no to the return of these events is people who already got to experience them. Who cares if newer players want these events/items? If they want them, let them have it. It's not hurting you in any way.
If looking cool is so important to you then go do something in the game that actually requires skill and hard work. Not tell newer players they can't have them because you already got those items handed to you.

Shantotto can do it because it's explained in FFXI. She was creating a magic that backfired and threw her into an alternate Vana'diel (where her alter ego is a tyrant, split into two after being forced into 'our' Vana'diel). Domina and Belle). After mastering the magic, she learned she could traverse dimensions, which allowed her to appear in Eorzea. Balthier and Fran can not do this.

It's not about being arrogant or hostile to new player it the fact that it was called a one time event. Then it should stay as a one time event it's a exclusive item it should remind exclusive item.

Like the other person said they should add more one time event and make them exclusive to reward the players who playing at the time.

FFXIII should be thrown into their box of shame and no one should ever look back on it. Throw the items in the mogstation for 99cents a piece or something.

Nah man. The game was fine. They were trying something a bit different with the battle system and summons. As for the linear stages... well. That was kinda explained in the story mode. It was mostly about combat instead of exploration. But because they derived from that they got unneeded hate. I will admit though. To many un-needed characters made it harder to be close to the cast as other Final Fantasy games. Again they tried something new. The fight "your summon and capture it" got repetitive and eventually predictable. But the game was no where near as trash as people made it seem. there are far worse games. X-Blades- E.T- Brink-Ninja Gaiden 3-Home Front and so on

not giving 13 a pass. but it was no where near as "Throw it away in a box and forget it" bad. That was just expectations being hyped and not being delivered.

No this is the entitlement players after have of saying I was here and you weren't, look at what I got. Its the same crap that happened to league of legends and the skins. In fact it wasn't even a 1 time event. It even came back again during the anniversary. this game needs as much content as it can offer to new and old players a like. Hell I wouldn't mind doing it again because I just would like to. This whole "NO!" "SUCKS TO BE YOU" crap is just meh.

Exclusive today most of the time now means get it 1st before someone else gets it later on.....*console wars*.

I still believe in the power of magic and dreams to make things happen. They would probably have to dig deep to think up something to make the worlds connect but every FF world shares one thing in common Crystals. Not to mention Hydalen looks like the Great Crystal in FFXII and T1 reminded me of how it looked like to be inside the Great Crystal.

And that's all well and good, but it has to be canon to both games. Otherwise it can just be summed up as "lol who cares, we did it just because."
