So you are telling me we are all bad, you have no problems being top dps ever right? Obviously all the people unhappy at how Bards new abilities are not truly that much of a big improvement for the class, are wrong and have zero reasons to ask for a bit of a boost.I've had a warrior today out dps a smn in one of my instances according to someone i know who was with us... good tanks can out dps some dps players of any job period if the player of said class isn't playing at their best. I won't say that the players are bad but maybe they just need improvement or they are learning still.
Maybe we all bad, we are bad Bard.
I am just going to take my own advice. You don't understand. What works for you does not work for others. You can't make a argument to save your life. Just because you got use to it, and think it is fine does not mean every one should learn to enjoy it.
*sighs* no point in talking with you. I am just going to like I said take my own advice and ignore. You can disagree with me, and I will be fine. At least have enough brains to understand what a subjective argument is. and coming to a thread saying learn to play, Is annoying when talking about fun of the class.
Just because you got use to it does not mean others should learn to play. Just because people do well with it. Does not mean people should learn as well. On the subject of fun. I was talking about myself subjective, and never once judge your views or skills in the matter. I am sure many also have fun with this new style. I question the logic of this change, and i question being called a support dps with the tools we have.

We chose to play because it's fun for us, I also hate the fact that we are forced to learn. I pay this game not to learn the sh** that we don't like, when someone doing the thing they like they will give all their got and work for it. That's why in school we have our favourite subject and we got good mark on it, you can't expect student who hate math to have good score on it.
I only want to be a true support with more tools to help the party, or a true dps, this "in between" job is too much "jack of all trades, master of none" and I am not sure how I feel about this, because like someone stated on previous post, Bards do not have a true designation, support or dps? Will Duty Finder parties have the thought "great lets carry this bard that just joined" cross their mind because they would rather have any other dps join instead?
I am not comparing good and bad players, I am comparing good players on every dps class and well warrior, since warrior can flip to dps mode and do as much.
I only hope SE thinks about it and if they want to truly make bard a support, they start giving them useful party buffs and target debuffs.
I agree, and also people telling bards they don't have to use it. So bards would have hardly any thing new to use, and when grouping with this community. The slightest thing sets people off in group play. I mean just look at before the fixes came through, how many did not even want a bard or mch.We chose to play because it's fun for us, I also hate the fact that we are forced to learn. I pay this game not to learn the sh** that we don't like, when someone doing the thing they like they will give all their got and work for it. I don't like the combat in this game, and I don't like the classes much. When I at last found a style I enjoyed, it pretty much said ok here is some new toys, but oh got to become a caster to use them. So ya I am a little moody about it.
Such a ridiculous exaggeration. The cast times are an entire second shorter than the GCD and you still have a few instant procs. WM can even be turned off during heavy movement so you're only suffering a slight DPS loss during fights that would have casters ripping their hair out in frustration.
Bards are still easily the most mobile DPS in the game AND retained all of their support options except for their garbage limit break. Excellent support, excellent mobility, and after a few tweaks most likely excellent damage... and yet an unending cascade of bitter tears because of a nearly insignificant 1.5 second cast time. Unbelievable.
Exaggeration? Please explain how so. Just because it is one second less does not mean my point does not stand. It is a play style change that is not fun. It does not matter if it can be turned off, the points you are making does not counter at all what is being said.
It is a caster play style, It feels clunky to me, and it is plain not fun. Yet another person who understands simple logic. Also, the whole bitter tears comment was not really called for, as you failed understand what is being said in the thread. To do the DPS we need to do. We are force to play a style that many don't like.
I question if they really know what the class is, as it is has been called plain dps, to support dps. If it is support dps, why turn the play style to a less mobile caster type, and not give more support skills that add to the flavor of the class?
It is simple questions, and design flaws that is easily seen by myself, and others.

Player

Warrior is op as hell anyways. Our FC WAR out dps' anyone but the greatest of dps players. Heck, even then, we had him out damage (one of the) best bards in the server on Ravana Ex farm while doing a MAIN TANK duty which greatly gimps his ability to dps at times.I've had a warrior today out dps a smn in one of my instances according to someone i know who was with us... good tanks can out dps some dps players of any job period if the player of said class isn't playing at their best. A dcent dos should never lose to a PLD/DRK, but WAR is a really bad comparison point atm when you see them doing 800-900+ dps during raids.
It depends on the design of the job if it is an actual design flaw. What do you perceive the Bard job to be? Primarily DPS or Primarily Support?
In all honesty, I perceive Bard and Mechanist primarily Support jobs with DPS mixed in. With that viewpoint, I can see the design being just fine. However, looking at it as a primary DPS, it would be a design flaw.
