Minfilia and the Scions have had, since 1.0, to be developed. They haven't improved, only becoming more annoying to see.

3.0 keeping most of them out of the story was refreshing. They need to stay out of the story.

Thancred will be bound somewhere and be all like "i used to be a scion till i took an arrow to the knee."

Papalymo and yda will turn up with kids >_> somewhere, even if they are adopted

Minfillia must be learning how to be less maiden somewhere so in my head cannon everyone is alive but they are changing in their own way (most likely not what i said but just training montage going around them)

Lol, I'm hoping we find them. .. though I think with thancred we'll find him with a garlean army that's fighting is then we have to go through this huge quest to get him back ending with us getting a frying pan from that Doman cook chick and we use it to whack him over the head with it... the 12 know I'd love to do that to him just for him hitting on any woman that walks on two legs...

And dude if minfilia is just sitting around drinking tea I will be calling my shadow and letting him be free....

or develop as characters. they have remained pretty static throughout besides thancred's one comment about his time as lahabrea.

Just sayin' what the game would do and my inner feelings. If it weren't for the story having to be class-neutral, I'd probably have exploded into a Super Saiyan-like rage following Haurchefant's death. He was the Krillin to our Goku...

... at least they let us swear vengeance afterwards.

remembering the last time that happened, another adventurer or a loyal temple knight would probably knock us out before it happens. something tells me a dark knight that let goes of her composure/is emotionally shattered is a huge threat to those around her.

I would be totally confortable with the Scions being Alphinaud, Alisae, Yugiri, Cid, Urianger, Tataru and Y'shtola. If we made a list I am sure it would turn out that we accomplished far more without Minfilia and the others than witht them around. You know like all the extreme primals, the coil, the crystal tower, garuda, odin, the main scenario roulette and well 3.0


The rest are only there to annoy you and get kidnapped.

I wouldn't want to see any more people dead since I'd like some consistency to the timeline. Out of action? Sure, maybe Thancred somewhere has to take it easy for a while cause of his knee, but dead? No way.

I also don't think they had much of an opportunity to really show their character off, apart from a tidbit scene here and there. Most of the time you see them, it's always business. The only one you really get to know is Y'shtola, primarily because her sister lives in Gridania and plays a big part in the Summoner quest line -- and Minfilia because of her personal sidequests with Mama Minfilia.

Seeing as how the cutscenes have improved since the 2.5 stuff, I'm still optimistic for their likability. I want see Yda's face. Thancred, I dunno, maybe explore his relationship with Minfilia more (father figure type). It would also be fun to see how the designers redesign them -- I'm loving the new Y'shtola after all.

I've said this before, but if any of our Scion friends end up dead as fallout from a death that was really cheaply undone, then the writing really will have managed to reach new lows. If, however, it turns out that Lolorito lied to our faces about how exactly he saved Nanamo... Then all bets are off. Who the hell is Dewlala, anyway?

I really didn't like how Lolorito was all "Nanamos alive, I saved her, yeah I'm a rat, but we're cool right" and we're all "Yeah, your an ass, but I guess we can get along". While I'm actually thinking "This nugget got the scions killed... Stone III the hell out of him!"

I think they could all learn something from us as a Dark Knight, or newfound awareness of what lies beneath the mask would help us understand them better. Thancred puts on a flighty, flirty mask but he's probably wracked with guilt over what Lahabrea did running around in his body. Minfilia puts on a strong front but deep down she's suffering and unsure of herself (she even says so to you after Moenbryda's death).

That said, some character development for them would still be cool beyond Y'shtola's "I'm blind now, but I can still see through aethersense even if it saps my life force."
