1. Stop exaggerating. We have not had maintenance every two or three days.
2. I'd rather the maintenance time be consistent. So, no thanks.

I agree with the OP.
Not all of the servers are in Japan, so stating that they have to do them all at once is a bit of a mute point honestly.
They could switch it up. Blizzard has maintenance in the morning PST, and it makes sense because people are at work. I get that's what they're doing for the JP folks, but since the NA servers are in Canada to my knowledge, why not go with that time zone instead?
Some of us would actually like to play the game when we're able to, or when the majority of our friends are able to play with us. Maintenance every 2 days, I hope, does not become the norm. And ever since expansion dropped, this has been the case. Able, the OP is not exaggerating in the slightest. Now, if we're talking since 2.0, then yeah, there's an exaggeration. However, people are also allowed to voice their frustration with something.
Just because you disagree, doesn't mean they're wrong either.
I understand people not wanting to change the times, and I agree with that. However, what is so wrong with alternating between afternoon and after midnight maintenance. This way it isn't the same group of player who have there playtime robbed.
Being in Japan, during this time slot is frustrating, but I deal with it by reading the forums and doing college homework (or avoiding college homework :P)Gurl. The maintenance for some players is during 4pm - 8pm ;3; I think due to the nature of the game being so global, they've just picked a time and stuck with it.
I imagine it's fine for JP players since most of them would likely be working or busy between the hours of 3pm and 7pm.
Anyways, as much as it sucks, all you can do is deal with it. The timeslot chosen is probably for a reason.
That wiki is outdated.
And SE probably did what Blizzard did.
Looked at server load times and picked the one that has lightest load.
Also, "daylight" for daytime is variable. In Alaska, sun goes down at 11 and comes up at 3 at the end of June. Means in winter just the opposite. How's that "daylight based on sunrise" work for you there?
TLR, deal with it.

I was in the same situation as OP and everytime they had maintenance I couldnt play at all that entire day.
i totally agree with you that they should mix it up. Imo its better if everyone is affected now and then instead of the same group of people bening affected everytime.
But this has been an issue since I started playing over a year ago and I dont think they really care about changing it

The point here is not about "what's the most convenient time to do a maintenance". It's about the same group of players always having to go through downtime. Since HW launched we've had quite a few maintenances, be it for hotfixing or for adding content and they'll keep coming. So, if maintenance was something like once a month I can understand them always being at the time when there's the lowest players online, but if you're gonna have 6 maintenances over a month for some people that's gonna be like 20% of the month, in practice it's 20% of their subscription time wasted by maintenances. Rotations on maintenance times would be appreciated.
The other thing to keep in mind is what the OP is asking for is giving the people whom perform maintenance on the servers erratic schedules.Gurl. Ask yourself as someone who works would you prefer to work a 9-5 with the same set schedule or have to go dynamic and be told ok today you'll have to come in at 11am-5pm to performed maintenance and then in two weeks you'll be coming in from 9pm-5am to perform maintenance. Doesn't sound fun now does it?

Honestly, I've done that, both in working IT jobs and in the military. It happens, you adapt, and if you're in that chosen field, it kinda comes with the territory (server/networking work, both civilian side and military). The other thing to keep in mind is what the OP is asking for is giving the people whom perform maintenance on the servers erratic schedules.

I have literally come home from work, to get called an hour later and asked to come back in....anyone that works on servers or networking is also making more than decent money, so it's not like they're making minimum wage and being asked to work erratic hours.
No matter which time-zone they move it to, someone will always be screwed. The maintaince is from 8 AM till 12 AM for me, which is fine from September till June, because I have class from 9 AM till 4 PM. But with the holidays right now I can understand your desire to play.
I guess all that we can do is respect these hours and be glad that they are taking care of this game so much.
