Can we PLEASE get maintenance at different times of the day?

My primary play times are M W Th Fr 10pm to 2am. Since 3.0, I've had 1/4 to 1/2 of my available play-time each week robbed by maintenances. For these non-emergency maintenances, please consider staggering NA / Asia server maintenance so that maintenance on NA servers can happen IN THE DAY TIME like Blizzard does it.

Blizzard does all NA maintenance late at night. There is no staggered anything for the NA serves.

OC servers are *not* NA servers.

Their maintenance on patch days is 3 am to 11 am Pacific. That's not during the day.

Their normal maintenance is done before 8 am Pacific.

That's still not during the day.

Blizzard doesn't run Asian servers, another company does that. EU servers are on a EU schedule. Oceanic servers are on an Australian time frame based on AEST.

*None* of World of Warcraft's North American servers have maintenance during the daytime.

The people who have it worst are actually Europe, but even then it's not too bad.

This maintenance is actually 08:00-13:00 CEST.

Most of them are at work and stuff.

One person's sleeptime is another person's prime time. You're 2am in California is our 5am on the east coast. Right now The maintenance or us eastern time is 1am-2am Until 4am-5am. So someone who wakes up early to play is now out of luck.

No matter what they do someone is going to be inconvenienced. Its just the nature of things. I am glad they are making sure to fix things quickly when other Large MMOS Pay to play or Free to Play wait over a month sometimes two before they put in their first hot fix.

Someone is always going to be inconvenienced. There is no time they can choose which wouldn't be bad for someone. That's the price of playing a global game.

The time they've chosen is actually a pretty good sweet spot as far as pleasing the most amount of people. 3-7pm for Japan is fine because most Japanese players can't play until after dinner anyway. 1-5am for Central players and 2-6am for Eastern hardly bothers anyone in those time zones.

I will grant that 11pm-3am Pacific is slightly inconvenient for players without morning obligations, but if you don't have morning obligations, you can go to bed earlier than you normally would and get up early to play, just shifting your hours a bit.

I think its fine the way it is.

Though it would be cool if they had a test server, then fixed the bugs on that and then release the patch without hindering gameplay so when we log out and back in it just updates.

Well, you realise that the game is made in Japan, right? So of course they have to favour for their own nation, but not just that, but also because SE staffs are also officer worker and they don't want to work overtime or coming home late, so that you, Pacific, can be happy. What did you expect? Playing a Japanese game and expect them to cater for any first before Japanese people, you dreamming?

I got the point of your initial version of this post Kaane. Not sure why you felt the need to add the aggressive addendum.

Regardless, I'm just posting this thread to see if there's any response or to at least voice my concern to any Square mod or other employee potentially reading these forums, not necessarily for comments from the inevitable peanut gallery.

It won't change. They might deviate +/-1 An hour or 2, but its never going to leave this time frame. Why?

Cause this thread is not new. Its been around since ARR launched. Its been around since WoW launched. Its been around since SWToR launched. Its been around since STO launched. Everyone is always looking to have their favored timeslot opened on maintenance times and yet to do so will close someone else's time slot. Its selfish to want it altered.

I play during this time. I am inconvenienced by it. But I very well am not going to expect/demand that they change their maintenance times. Just wait for 3.1 to launch. I'm sure there is going to be a month worth of odd hot fix maintenance days. This happens after ever decent patch, its not new. (Yes. >> ~600 MBs was decent... imo.)

I'm An Australian player 4pm-8pm isn't really that bad places are still open live a little. yeah its kind of annoying when its 2-3 times a week but we gotta deal.

Sunrise PST is currently 6am.

Bliz maints are usually between 3am or 5am and 7am or 11am PST/PDT (6am+ EST).

5am, 7am, 11am PT Maints are by definition, DAYTIME.

Even on large expansion type maints that take all day, servers would still come up by prime-time PST. Played WoW for 5 years with the same schedule as I have now, servers were always up by prime time (EST or PST).

It would be fantastic if they could move it to 1AM-4AM PST honestly. I'd love even more for it to be 2AM-5AM, but doubt that would happen.
Still, is 1AM-4AM PST so hard to ask for, and still places it fairly favorably, but allows better play time for us late nighters (myself being one of them).

Here's hoping something can change, at least?
