It really sucks to see so many people struggling on a bunch of different servers, But for real though, no one on Excalibur should really be complaining. While we can't always control the bad apples that pull early, there is a hugely successful LS and TS called "I WAS ALMOST THERE!" They will invite you into the LS to actively Hunt and then clean up the LS at night or ask you to leave if you aren't hunting.
It's run by a bunch or really great players and I enjoy just popping into the TS just to chat and join in on hunts when im not running daily roulettes etc. We shout pull timers and for the instance nonsense going on we try and accommodate that, and for the most part people stay quite respectful of the pull timers and letting as many people get credit.
You can't expect to make it to every hunt, even when they get rid of instances. Running with that group I was able to upgrade in two days. It seems like a mess now but Se will add other options (they ALWAYS do) and hunts will fluctuate like before.
If you want to do something about the toxicity CHANGE IT YOURSELF. Step up, find a group of hunters and make a spreadsheet, ask around for help and create something like our server and it seems what Balmung has done too. Stop fussing to SE to make things better. It's our world lalas and gents, we can be civil.
If you're referring to where the upgrade items came from originally, they obviously started out in the SCoB and FCoB (I should know, I've done all of it)...but that's not what the thread nor what I was talking about. Please read. I was referring to the additional places and where they began. This thread is about how the upgrade items are made first available outside raids through hunts.
The craze with hunts and them being one of the only places to upgrade your gear began with Sands of Time and the time where SCoB was about to end. Allied seals could buy the Blood-stained logs or you could get a flat out RNG drop of a log. Eventually, as a means to get the upgrade items from somewhere different besides hunts, they added it into ST. Then when poetic upgrades were a thing, they added the items to the hunts and then the raid tower quest.
My huge issue (because I -like every other person with a controller/keyboard in hand- can do hunts) with the current upgrade items is that it sucks that it's the only way until other means are made available. Hunts shouldn't pull that much weight in terms of content. You should have allied seals coming from a few different places and not just randomly killing mobs. You should have them tied to the roulettes, intended to bring people back into older content.
