I wouldn't call expecting someone to do their best at a job being carried. If I was to be lazy like some tanks on any healer class we would be wiping. Same goes for DPS. If one is being lazy. Everyone else must pick up the slack. Why should healers be expected to work harder when the tank isn't using all they have available.

If someone is not willing to bring their all to a group that is not a job specific problem. That is a player specific problem.

The problem is that the other healers can do everything so much better than AST, both the healing and supporting. If people start to slack, those healers can much more easily keep things going smoothly, and we already know that SCH offers better support. AST is capable, but just not good enough and when other players have to change how they play to account for a particular healer, clearly there's a problem. Yes playing their best is nice, but if they don't have to do that with other healers but they do in order for AST to get by, clearly AST is lacking. If people need to be perfect for the healer to perform well, how much is the healer really even contributing at that point?

Hoping this doesn't come off as elitist so apologize if it does, but as you're not 60 with AST according to your profile are you reiterating what someone else has said or your own experience. As I've said before when all team members are working together and not slacking I have honestly not noticed a lot of issues aside from the card issues. Yes as a whm and scholar players are able to be more lax and lazy than they can be when an AST is healing them. To be a devils advocate on that I would be more concerned with SE nerfing other healer classes to put them on par with AST which from a balancing stand point it is easier to nerf than buff. People saying the other healer classes allow tanks and DPS to be lazy and that sends a message to SE that those jobs need a little more difficulty. Just something to be mindful of.

Hopefully this doesn't sound rude, but honestly if you think SE is going to nerf WHM and SCH down to AST's level, as opposed to buffing AST up to the other two, you're nuts.

Who will stick around longer, the ones who easily complete content every day or the ones who feel challenged in everything we do? Let me put it this way, it is a good bet we have all used cheat codes on games. How long did you play that game after using a cheat code for infinite life or to get everything? Did you beat it and not play it again for a long time. We've all done it or most of us have. As this is not a free to play game they get heir money from subs and stuff at from mogstation they will chose the option that ensures longevity. Making things easy does not ensure longevity.

Well, the way I look at it. Buffing AST will make everyone happy. Nerfing WHM/SCH will make everyone incredibly pissed, potentially causing the people that play those jobs to quit the job or game altogether. I know what I would do if I were a game developer.

I've been a WHM/SCH main for a year and a half, and absolutely LOVE their new skills (minus Dissipation). I guarantee I would walk away from healing if they nerfed WHM/SCH down to the bare bones weak job that AST currently is.

Honestly the amount of people that would quit would be a drop in the hat spec with all the new players that have been popping up who would never know what they were missing. They have to think long term where most forum posts are only concerned with short term gains.
