Hm, perhaps I can word this better then. I'm not saying my Au Ra used fantasia, I'm just saying I didn't think of everything that happened to my character up until I had done the change. I completely forgot about all the other garbage I went through during the MSQ because it was so long ago, from a player standpoint. So i never took into account how that story would have looked through the eyes of an Au Ra adventurer. That was on my end.

As for the Gods thing, yet again, I'm not saying the primals are Gods. Let me clear that up. Originally, due to me not knowing about Auri having access to other primals, I would have thought that there would have been some culture clash with the discovery of these primals, and the use of these egis. But now that I know that it wasn't something they had never been exposed to, that frees up some options. That's the kind of info I was searching out, so that I could cook up a better story by understanding more, that's all.

So essentially from what I can map out from what you guys have told me, my Au Ra could have been a fresh adventurer in a new land. Went through the whole warrior of light arc, etc. So I could have become an Arcanist through the Arcanist guild, instead of stumbling across this knowledge by some other means. That certainly clarifies things a bit. I just didn't know how all of this would have played out, outside the realm of the WoL arc. I'm trying to figure out where this would fit an Au Ra within their culture, and if there were any specific ties to other Summoners etc.

There's the Xaela clan that worshipped Dalamud; it could fit in lore-wise that a immigrant following the fall of the lesser moon found out what was really inside and started to dabble into summoning.

Well, Summoners do use the Trance system, and the Xaela are quite similar to Mongolians, who entered shamanic trances to commune with their ancestral spirits. As far as summoning the Egis goes, you'd still need to kill primals as normal.

So perhaps there may be a family tie, or tribal ritual practice that had been passed down. I can follow that logic, that does seem like something that could fly.

That is something to ask SE, I haven't gone back to the Inn to see if they changed it up in the cutscenes. I've been meaning too actually, just been having fun with the xpac. That said our character would technically be the only (or one of a VERY few) Auri anything up until Ishgard in Eorzea so even then it could still be somewhat surprising. That said I think the only one actually surprised was Tataru right? The Scions (if they were around) may have/did already guess she was an Auri prior to that, but Tataru may have not. Course she also seemed to be more about the beauty part then anything so even she may have realised.

Edit: Just watched the first cutscene in Mother of Exiles, she still gives the same reasoning for why she covered up and all that. It may just be because I already went through it I don't know, but I presume they never changed the scene for any Au Ra character.

Also, don't forget Odin has something to do with the Au Ra; Zantesuken (sorry about spelling) was acquired from an Auri warrior...

Perhaps the sword (which is the Eikon, according to everything we know about Odin) was a "living god" to one of the forgotten/ancient Xaela tribes...

Your Aura still did all the things your original character did in 1.0/2.0, so they would've come into contact with Garu/Titan/Iffy. You summon Egi's using the aether that they imprinted on you during the MSQ.
Although this opens up the question of what Egi's the original Allagans summoners summoned? Not gonna spoil anything too much, but Garuda didn't even exist back then, so I wonder what their "common" Primals were. They could've been able to summon Odin, since we know Wiyu died fighting him.

Well, not really. Odin's spirit keeps retreating to Zantetsuken, so he's never fully defeated, which is what keeps a Summoner from summoning an Odin-Egi. Maybe the Belias-Egi we see in the SMN lvl 50 fight was a normal thing back then? I agree, knowing what Egis were in casual usage would be pretty nice.
