Why not appreciate the uniqueness of just how they look? I mean, people don't stay in their race outfits for long, and none of them seem too indicative of their culture, otherwise Miqo'te would have two heavily difference outfits.
This is an mmorpg, 'uniqueness' is unattainable. Make a cute character, someone will copy it. Or someone will have made the same on their own, maybe even randomly.
Same goes for costumes, colours, voice, etcetera. It's one of those pet peeves I have maybe... Play something you like I say, and let that be the end of it! If you want to be truly unique then dye all your clothing banana yellow, with a green wizard cap or something.
Why not just give everyone all the same emotes then? The races are already samey, why take away one of the last things that gives them differences? Racial gear is a "perk" of choosing a certain race, if you will.
Literally, it's only the starter gear and hempen gear that's different. Not EVERYTHING needs to be shared.
I can see why people want it, I just think it defeats the point of it... why have racial gear at all.
Also, it would all need to have different versions made for every race because the proportions are all wrong. It would take a fair amount of effort on SE's part.
I've questioned the lore behind the starter gear. I don't think there really is any. But I think there needs to be some uniqueness. As jealous as I am of some of the other clothing options the other races get, I don't want to lose what we have that's unique to us. In fact, I'd like to have more race specific clothing in the future and hopefully in its design be able to give ideas lore wise as to what the races are like.
Seida, you're brilliant!
Think of it, all the emotes having different versions that you can change with /changepose.
Think of the variety! Think of the character! Think of the RP potential!
And don't worry about making different versions, I'm sure they used the same ridding and just resized it for the different races, so it shouldn't be too hard to translated it for the other races.![]()
Haha, I actually agree with you TBH. I think uniqueness comes from choice. If everyone can choose which emotes they want, and have the racial gear (and various forms of hempen underwear) unlocked, then people can mix and match even more styles to look more unique. Maybe ALL of the emotes would be a tad too far, but since the races stole one of the highlander emotes, I think it's fair to at least have some shared between all the races. Or at least maybe /changepose stances. I know a lot of female miqo'te who would KILL to sit like their male counterparts.
I like that the starter gear is restricted.
but if we were allowed to dye it id be superhappy
"Uniqueness" is a nonsensical concept made up purely by those who take joy in the fact that they have something that others cannot get.
Aesthetic restrictions add absolutely nothing to any game ever. They should be phased out just like FFXIV phased out race "restrictions" on jobs.
Or uniqueness is something people appreciate in games, instead of having everything palette swapped because people "want it all now" I am quite happy with race unque outfits, and i think they should stay that way. there are quite a few race exclusive outfits i'd like to wear, but i don't go around crying about them cause i can't use them. if i wanted it bad enough, i'd just change to that race."Uniqueness" is a nonsensical concept made up purely by those who take joy in the fact that they have something that others cannot get.
