How much of a dps increase is it really to have gauss in your rotation?
I mean, I'm messing around with a dummy and I just don't feel like having to deal with what- 3 extra buttons? in a boss fight while having to worry about other things going on is realistically 'worth it'

It's only two buttons - gauss round every 20 seconds and ricochet. As it stands right now, it's not really an increase or decrease as MCH is putting out about the same amount of damage on as it is off. I use it because I like the extra buttons during downtime and I want to get used to it for when it hopefully gets buffed. For now, using it outside your opener isn't really necessary, though.

I've done a few test runs on my topic, and the dps difference between non-GB and fulltime GB was 3.3%. Include in the fact that my non-GB test had the least amount of crits between the three, and that difference would be even more negligible.

Wow, that's not good. I've been assuming that like WM the GB is supposed to be a higher dps stance, but it looks like it's failing spectacularly at being that.

WM does lead to a damage increase for bard, but it's not the case for machinist. It's probably because part of our overall damage is not increased by GB (the turret).

...I think I may hold off on leveling my machinist beyond 52 until it starts getting some decent amount of power. I mean I enjoy playing it, but I don't dare bring it into a high level dungeon at this point.

MCH's damage is ok; it's not low to the point that they should be excluded from anything (Pre-40 dungeons is a different story though...)

I've been keeping it on as well just to get used to it IF it gets buffed and SE intended for it to be up 100% of the time. Although I do turn it off if I know there is a lot of movement in a fight.
