You learn about that island in the bard quests.I dunno, there might be some nonsense here. According to the sightseeing journal, the Vanu named an island shaped like a moogle "Mok Oogl Island" because "Mok Oogl" means "noise heard on high".
I wouldn't be surprised if they said "sell-it" is a surname which translates to "sound of coins clinking on easternly wind".Moogles did actually used to live there. Then a siren killed them all off.
