Well because exactly of these. You see how toxic the general Tune gets. Now imagine you have all these PvP Maniacs here, that flame you like "lolol can only hit dumb Mobs and no Ppl with Brain l2p" and analyze the Classes into the smallest detail (they think they do) and then cry for nerfs or buffs of classes in PvP.
No thank you i love XIV. And if you love XIV you don't want em here too.

Square has already made the game design decision to incorporate PvP into their game. There is no reason they shouldn't continue adding additional content and provide currency that can be used for PvE purchases.
Every game will always have its toxic players, whether in PvE or PvP, and you always have the choice to ignore those players if they are a problem.

I was being a bit sarcastic in my last post. It wasn't meant to be taken literally. Sorry about that, I should have been more clear.Well because exactly of these. Heh, I wonder if I should start using sarcmark. Anyway...
Excuse my bluntness, but my point was how stupid a reason that would be to not keep PvP updated with the times just like PvE. Why must one piece of content suffer when the other doesn't if both cause the same problem? Because it's the "lesser content" in the game? Don't give me that bull. Both PvE and PvP are wonderful features in FFXIV, with the latter only being "lesser" due to it suffering from developer neglect.
Mark my words: if Square put half the effort into PvP that they put into their PvE, then FFXIV's PvP would be every bit as important and grand as the PvE.
I dislike elitists (not to be confused with the actual, discreet and skilled elite - elitists, in my eyes, are the loud, obnoxious people who greatly overestimate their own skills, like those "PvP Maniacs" you mentioned) as much as the next guy and think they tend to ruin MMO communities by making them toxic. I've seen it in multiple MMORPGs, and, in general, it's only getting worse. But phasing out and neglecting content of any sort is not a solution to the elitism problem.

Why? I'm curious, because usually people list pretty BS reasons.
EDIT: Oh, never mind. You already replied to someone with the exact BS reasons everyone always lists. No further comments needed.

Oh my gosh thank you. Just 10 Centurio and 15 law per match and people would flock to the fronline.

All you have to do is run around on your chocobo for the duration of the match and you get the rewarded with law and centino, awesome......like we didn't have enough people exploiting pvp as it is.

It should be. PvP content shouldn't be treated like a second rate content.
SE plays on the mentality from people who just want BiS for BiS' sake. A mentality I dont't have.
You play the hardest raids in order to achieve BiS. And once you have BiS, then what? I don't see a reason to get BiS just for the sake of BiS, when there are no content to use BiS on. Easier to help people? Bragging rights? Feeling of completion? Even in prep for new content seems like a waste to me, as it's obsolete fast. (I'm only half serious here; if we continue down this rabbithole we could ask ourselves why we even play games :P)
In my case I play the game to have fun. And PvP is the most fun (and admittingly most frustrating at times) imo (along with some raid bosses). And seeing how the PvP content is implemented, the most efficient way would be to lure BiS/PvE/vanity players in with law tomes. I don't see why, for instance, a daily 50 law tome reward should not be given in frontline as is. The other content would hardly suffer.
I hate when people treat pvp like second rate content. Had a 4 people just running around in front lines slaughter 24 man, it looked like they just had each other on follow. I couldn't vote dismiss till for 5 minutes. By then no cared and were just running around too since we had no chance at mid. If you pvp enough and take the time to look at the parse at the end of the game you could see how many people don't care and our just here for easy rewards.
