man you can say that about everything. people are going to abuse other players with or without parsers, so lets include them eh?I would have no problems with someone advising me in this way, it can only improve my game play in the long run. It is the people who would abuse other players, and abuse the knowledge that goes with a parser, especially in DF, when you have quite a few new/levelling players going through and learning whichever job they're on.
Yeah but what I'm trying to say is that it goes both ways... the SMN I told that he should not use Deathflare right away... just insulted me. Then his bard friend did the same "we don't tell you how to heal, so shut up".I would have no problems with someone advising me in this way, it can only improve my game play in the long run. "Errr... okay ?"
I had never thought of it like this, and to be honest I am guilty of the same, I tend to move out of telegraphs predicting mechanics right away. There is a certain amount you can feel....but there are many things that can go beyond your notice.Myself for example....I tend to move out/do mechanics as soon as possible. However, if I was to move at the last possible second and the like, I could do much higher DPS. This itself was told to me by a friend of mine, who does run the numbers. Its something I'll have to train on...but honestly was something I never actually thought of till he said it.
In my nine years of playing WoW at both ends of the casual/hardcore spectrum, I've never, ever seen the ridiculous amount of meter-based harassment and ridicule that so many people seem to be claiming was the norm. Were there occasionally assholes who abused people over it? Sure, but nowhere near the extreme amount you all love to endlessly regurgitate.
Not having meters readily available (and actually banning people for using them...) in a game that loves to use DPS checks as the epitome of boss mechanics is flat out stupid. It's extremely poor design and encourages ignorance and bad play.
I think I've maybe just been lucky so far, as I said the groups I've come across so far have been nice, patient groups.
They are the opposite side of the coin, sadly, and are as bad as people who abuse players in the first place in my opinion. If you're going to do group content at least do your best as your performance affects 3, 7 etc other people.

I would not dream of implying that your experiences are any less truthful than mine, I think both points are equally valid as they are personal experience. In my nine years of playing WoW at both ends of the casual/hardcore spectrum, I've never, ever seen the ridiculous amount of meter-based harassment and ridicule that so many people seem to be claiming was the norm. I do see your point, as I have said parsers, when used responsibly, to improve are a wonderful tool.

Do you use the dragonkillers as soon as you can, or do you delay it as long as possible?
Delaying as long as possible is preferred as time on back of Bismarck is fixed, and people need to let debuff fall off before jumping on again.

Sure you can. You just can't cite unofficial parser data as how you know someones dps is too low.
If a dps aggro bar is significantly lower than the others, that tends to be one sign that his/her/its dps is lower than the others for example...
Or it means they're using their threat reduction abilities properly...

It's not a matter of willing to so much as do they care to. If they didn't care to begin with, no amount of math, text, or other evidence/criticism will make them. No matter how constructive or anger inspired it may be. Lifefact: You will never make people do that which they do not wish to do.
Again I saw that under the sun the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to those with knowledge, but time and chance happen to them all.
