Tbh, I hate the idea that a particular race was made to be "cute." Suppose if someone likes the concept of playing as a dragon/demon-like female, but get put off by how adore the faces are. I think this was an issue with the Hyur Midlander female's running, which makes them look more fragile than anything like warriors.
LOL just because something looks weak and fragile didn't mean they are are we completely forgetting how strong Armstrongs little sister is in Full metal Alchemist?
But it ruins suspension of disbelief.
Female Midlander Hyur: I'm an ilvl 115 Monk and we just destroyed Titan's fatass on extreme. Let's get out of here. *flails arms*
Granted, I'm not entirely against that running animation. I have another who only uses magic. She was meant to be physically incapable, so having her flail her arms around would make sense. But for the former, who also does MCH (that gun looks heavy btw) and is working to be DRG and PLD, seeing her do it looks... ugh... I hope any future patches allows us to change running animations. You can't expect them all to run and behave the same, just because it's cute. BTW, the character you mentioned was WAY more serious than Armstrong and almost never smiles. She never struck me as being weak and fragile at all.

He's talking about the other sister, the one who played an incredibly minor role (so I saw her unnatural strength as a form of comedy relief). Her name was Catherine, I think?
I completely forgot about any Armstrongs besides Alex and Olvier tbh, so incredibly minor role is right.
Could you imagine how many complaints we'd get on the forums if the guy Au Ra were super cutesy and stuff? I'm so sure if that were the case we probably wouldn't be see the whole "Cute things can be deadly too, you know!" response.
