(HUGE SPOILERS) Mild Bragging/How Powerful Are We?

So, for the mild bragging part, I succeeded in soloing the Praetorium last night. However, that got me thinking... just how powerful have we become?

    WARNING, MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

After defeating the arch bishop at the end of the Heavensward storyline, we are greeted with a short but rather different cutscene that puts our character in a strange light that I was not expecting. With the archbishop/King Thordan lying on the ground in defeat, he looks up in our character, which is cast in a very dark and sinister shadow (assumed you are viewing yourself from the king's eyes) and he simply asks the question "Who-... what are you!?" before collapsing in death and utter fear.

Not only this, but at the VERY end of the credits rolling (I hope you didn't spam skip them ;P), we see that the ascians are employing the services of what can only be called our polar opposites; the warriors of darkness.

Looking at these two cutscenes, I found myself wondering... how powerful am I? How powerful are the players? I recall how my character was made into a warrior of light for the sake of defeating the eikons causing chaos... are the warriors of darkness summoned for the sake of defeating, for lack of a better word, the "eikon" of peace? At one point in the storyline, Alphinaud is even seen taking for granted our ability to slay gods, so it is almost assumed that the gods are below our character now, and with the archbishop groveling at our feet in fear as our character is cast in such a menacing light, it just had me wondering where we are right now.

If I myself (and I am sure many others) can take on the Ultima weapon single handedly, and cause such fear in the archbishop's eyes... really, just how strong have we become?

They are worried about our power level simply because we figured out how to do the impossible: kill immortal Ascians. We also regained Hydaelyn's blessing by overcoming Midgardsormr's seal (not sure how exactly this occured though...). We also have a talent for rallying quarreling organizations and nations together.

Remember that everything we've done up to this point, such as primals or coil, we've done with help from mercenaries (other players), armies, and npcs. Hell, you're even told to fetch some friends before attempting the Steps of Faith.

For some reason I always thought that, when the Archbischop looked at us, the player, he was convinced that Halone herself had come down in mortal form to smite him. Would be deliciously ironic.

But in all honesty, we kind of don't know (yet).

Being a female DRK, i thought the ending was quite fitting.

Haurchefant tells his father that we are 'hope incarnate', the same can be said for any primal in the eyes of the person or beast tribe that summoned them, so I wouldn't be surprised if we ourselves are becoming a form of primal or deity, fueled by the prayers and wishes of everyone we help.

we are so OP, that even 13 primals cannot win against us (supposed to be a solo win according to story), and we ride on the back of the strongest dragonkin.

In the end they mention that the WoL is reaching the level of the Gods, so he/she is probably on a demigod level. But remember demigods have been slain by normal humans (Cuchulain for example albeit he was nerfed due to his geas) so its not like he/she is invincible.

And no the WoL doesnt kill Primals alone he/she always get help albeit he/she does the biggest contribution.

To put in comparison id say we could solo Lahabrea (high tier Ascian) without too much of a problem.

yes, it was. the only thing missing were the glowing red eyes.

on topic...yes, we are really powerful because of our blessing and the experiences we have been through. makes me wonder how the ascians intend to boost the power of the WoD to our current ability

Sort of. So far as the story is concerned you're supposed to be killing the primals by yourself. I haven't done anything in Coil since clearing T5 ages ago so I honestly can't remember or say how that's treated. And even in situations where the story specifically mentions you bringing along help, it's generally implied that you did all of the work anyway.

Anyroad, as far as actual power goes the Warrior of Light exceeded mortal limits a long time ago and is now brushing the knees of god-tier strength. The quest line of some jobs show varying degrees of super human ability as well, but since the main story completely disregards your class I'll say those are irrelevant.

With this character's death, the thread of prophecy remains intact.

We are not soloing Primals, we are leading teams of skilled sellswords and mercs to kill Primals. The game just tends to focus on your character.
