Astrologians remind me of Scholars back in 2.0/2.1. They were capable of solo healing all fights including Titan Ex, but only the competent healers could pull it off. It required those well placed WD and succor spam. I was one of the few who conquered those solo heals while the fights were new.

Most others were on WHM bandwagon. Because I remember when 2.0 first launched, people had this same misconception about Scholar that they were weaker than WHM. But later on, they were proved to be just as good and many switched over, which caused over-abundance of SCHs.

History is repeating with AST. I knew they were capable of endgame, but people whine because it's not as OP as WHM. I love the challenge in healing. Now I wish I took AST to 60 first. The only disappointing part about AST is that majority of the class is just re-skinned WHM spells/traits with card gimmick thrown in. Come on SE, did you run out of ideas?

While I can agree very much so. I know they're capable of doing End Game. It's the same thing with Machinist and Dark Knight. They're well capable of doing End Game. It's just a matter of the abilities bringing something to the table or making things much more efficient. The issue is with AST is the latter. DRK is the former(actually both in my opinion). MCH I cannot say personally, perhaps the latter.

And how many patches that SCH has gone through? You hasn't even played AST to 60 yet to realize its problems for yourself, but at least try to read the AST complaint threads & see what most say. They want better card system, better CD & skill effects, better MP management, NOT higher healing potency.

Also, these solo-heal videos while being a well done job, personally I think that what tests a good healer isn't a good group that can avoid every potential damages, but a group of average randoms that take quite a big hit, with mistakes here & there, but still able to go on with good healing.

I'm not saying AST isn't capable of doing current contents, but keep in mind that those are just EX primals, like the ones in the past, not that hard but requires good gears & a bit of practices. The real end-game content is something similar to coil, and right now there's just no reason for people to accept AST into their statics, due to them being underwhelming when compare to the other healers.

AST should have had "Chain heals" like World of Warcraft's Shamans. They took Paladin's Beacon of Light... might as well take that skill too, for a completely new feel from that of SCH/WHM. Just trying to understand why they did not. lol
