Hummingways - The best choice for the next playable race

Honestly I couldn't care less. All the races look the same. They either have tails, Cat ears, Horns, Scales, Short, tall, Long neck elves(Shudder). Until I see a Dragon/Animal snout or 3 toed or animal feet all the races are the same. They are just modified humans with the above features tacked on.
Au ra race is just a human with SCALES AND HORNS OMG! while Miqote are just cat tails and Ears. Not much difference in the 2 compared to Humans or Hume/Humar/Hyur w/e we want to call Humans.

That is a Mysidian rabbit. It tends to appear in final fantasies when a random effect fails. Since Mysidian rabbits first appeared in V and Hummingways were featured in IV, they could be the same species if the dev team wishes it so.

I would honestly prefer the next new race to be something that isn't cute, otherwise we may as well rename FFXIV to Typical Anime Adventure Online (or Hello Kitty's Serious Adventure).

To be fair, the playable races have primals as well. The twelve are primals even if they aren't seen that way by society. They've even been summoned by Louisiox.

I hear ya. BUt if the japanese want cute, the most we can do is make them less human looking.

...honestly, I had hoped for the Yagudo to come in... and sadly found they did some splicing with 'em... Yagudo had the same general posture/architecture as the Gnath, but the general "features" of the Vanu Vanu.

The Gnath actually much more closely resemble the Urutan-Yensa race from FFXII. So closely that I thought they were the same models, lifted from that game into this one - but when I went back and checked, I found that the Urutan-Yensa were much less insectoid (the leg design is pretty much identical, though).

Hummingways would be great. Well really any beast race would be great and they could roll them out with a patch. Heck they have with a class and job.
I mean there is an other race option that would be great to see.
