Regret after finishing 58 DRG Job Quest

After trying out Wheeling Thrust, I regret having learned Wheeling Thrust at all.

Considering that it has the EXACT same effect as Fang and Claw with the EXACT same requirements to activate, and the only difference between the two is which position you have to be in to get the damage bonus, I can only wonder why anyone should learn Wheeling Thrust when ALL that it changes is that Fang and Claw becomes unreliable.

Even if Geirskogul is really so amazing that it justifies learning Wheeling Thrust anyway, why did we have to get a re-position of an ability we just got? What possible advantage does Wheeling Thrust give to the player that Fang and Claw didn't already give?

Maybe you can't hit the boss or add at the appropriate angle? Nothing better than having options even though it's the same effect. You just have to pick the better option depending on your position.

    ...That's not how it works.

Better to have something and not need it, than need something and not have it. Besides you don't have to use it.

not how it works. pure RNG, it randomly gives you one buff after a CT or FT.

i think they added it just to make the job more complicated TBH. seems a few of the jobs suffer from that atm.

Its literally a waste of an ability. Its worse than that its a negative ability.
I'm taking my time to do the level 58 drg quest. We'll see how much I'm missing Geirskogul in a few weeks. I may never do the level 58 quest.

I had the same feeling when I got the new move. I just kinda shrugged and moved on, but wouldn't mind if it were changed to be something more beneficial. As far as Geirskogul goes, while I'm no hardcore rotation math person, I really rarely use it. Most times I need around 12~ seconds left on my BotD to account for tank moving the mob or AoE to reach the next boost. If I need heavy thrust or Phlebotomize, even longer, so the instances to use the skill is very low.

Its not hard to hit them, you don't have to be all the way to the side, or all the way to the back for the positionals to work... I only have trouble getting them off when bosses turn for aoe's or a ton of aoe's cover the area and I have to disengage.

Just learn to not go so wide for them and its pretty easy., and Geir andds a decent amount of dps once you get the hang of it.

An easy fix for this would be to make Fang And Claw always trigger after Chaos Thrust while Wheeling Thrust always triggers after Full Thrust. Thoughts?

Technically still would be easier to just have FaC and never learned WT. One of them would need to impact your Chaos Thrust combo, doing another DoT or another debuff, while the other could be higher pure damage behind Heavy Thrust. For Geir, could have both, or one of them give charges that last awhile, allowing us to position the directional AoE for trash pulls or saving them for burst damage on bosses.
