The new classes are in Ishgard.
You can't go to Ishgard until you complete the story.
There is a lore reason for this.
You're just going to have to play the story.

I'm so glad I'm not a little whiner like people here and can just be happy I'm playing a game. Perfect situation for the QQ more.
What's the big deal? If the class started level 1 in the older zones you would still have to complete the story to unlock isghard and by extent the newer dungeons anyway.
Anyway, all of the elitism is unwarranted. It isn't as if everyone here is PVPing to compete for openworld Raid bosses or anything like that. Heck, most of us don't even pvp.

I loved the story in this game.
I also dont have a problem with being expected to play the story to continue forward to access the expansion.
BUT. The main story line is pretty damn bloated. Theres a lot of 'busy-work' quests that could easily be done away with and maintain the integrity of the story. It isn't so much a problem for the first expansion. But they need to seriously consider slimming it down for any future ones. Otherwise you're going to deter new players.

Yes there is...the jobs were developed and remained within the realm of Ishgard. It wasn't like Rogue and Ninja that were already in the game prior to their releasing our ability to unlock them. Our exposure and their lore was established in the core of the game...the Ishgardian jobs are introduced to us when we finally reach Ishgard.

So apparently you understand this point. Hilariously, you don't understand how it invalidates your point. So they're not allowed to make a choice? You get to tell them how everything is supposed to be?
The devs made a choice to connect these classes to Ishgard. In the period of time this 28 page topic has been up every single person complaining about this topic could've gotten in, finished MSQ, and gotten their jobs. This is not even precluding the fact that anybody who knew Heavensward was coming had 3-months to get that figured out.
Seriously spending more time complaining about the task than it would take to just get it done. And don't talk to me about how it's too hard, 2 nights ago I led a bunch of new folks through Steps in Duty Finder, 1 dragon killer and no use of canons to get the boss down. He was 76% before the first gate even.
I said this in another topic: If you want something, but refuse to do the work the developers required for you to get it, then you obviously didn't want that thing very badly, did you? My guess is, if you really want these jobs before you touch Heavensward, you'll be able to waltz in sometime around 4.0 at the latest while the rest of us are moving onto the next story and the new jobs locked behind that without having to do the 2.0 MSQ. But they said that at least for now if you want those jobs you need to do the story.
The rest of us had to do it, you're no exception. And I think MST3k put something being a barrier to an audience the right way:
"The Right People will understand." and that's far more people than you're giving credit for.
It's a bit funny people are rallying against "lore reasons" for the new jobs, yet no one seems to remember that the old jobs were also gated behind lore/quests.
No class is locked and every class start at level 1JUST LET THE CLASSES NOT BE LOCKED, Man why start at level 30 if i have to plow through 1-50, complete this month long msq grind on top of work being a father etc, just to get a lvl 30 class thrown in my face, yeah thanks for all that effort for a lvl 30, could have at least made them lvl 50 so we can play them through heavenward if they really are"tied to the story and all that" instead of oh, lets go to ishgard, heres 3 new classes, go back to your filthy ffxiv arr world until you are level 50 again so you can come here and then we treat you like crap to gain a new line of reputation with us mister warrior of light
What you mean are jobs and jobs always start with lv 30 (or higher if bounded to a class that is already over lv 30).
Also, even during the older job quests you get sending other all places. Not just to places fiting to your level, but also to lv 5 or lv 20 places, if the environment fit into the story.
As an example Ninja, past level 50 you do the job quests still in La Noscea.
