Extra retainers do NOT make it P2W. If you really think it does, well... go sell a couple of candy bars on the side of the street and buy a couple extra retainers for FOUR bucks.

No one seems to understand that more retainers doesn't just mean more space,
its more space to sell your loot on the market, an extra 20 per retainer, that literally means you're able to make millions more in gil in the same amount of time than someone with just two.
And it means more ventures, which are easy to acquire if you cap allied seals (thats a 1000 ventures), I made my retainer get the new leather items and sold them instantly for 100k, Thats 100k from a single venture. Now imagine that times 8.

Its not pay to win for sure.

Its pay to get rich.

It builds up, its not a one time buy, its constant like your sub. Thats the issue.

So the main issue I'm seeing here is about making more gill? Maybe in the monopoly world then yeah but this isn't that, for me Doing End game content and getting the latest items is a win for me and so far I can't recall gill beining apart of that.

That's the keyword. For YOU. Some people would rather craft/gather than do coil/alexander. Some people would rather rake in as much money as they can. There's no wrong way to play as long as they are enjoying themselves. Buying more retainers isn't going to help you clear end game raids any easier so yes, people are talking about making more gil. Because that's what retainers do. Gather ingredients and sell items. Basically make gil.

If you think about it, you would buy the space, then if you want to stop paying for it, you'll lose not only the retainers, BUT ALL THE ITEMS IN THEM AS WELL.

As with the other individual, this shows a lack of understanding what pay to win is. Allow me to repeat myself : Pay to win is anything that you can spend real money on that gives you some sort of advantage.

The nature of that advantage is very much a non-issue. Inventory space, gear, a Jewels that you use in game to unlock stuff, whatever it may be, it does not matter. ANY in game advantage is pay to win.

That's what the producer of the game considers pay-to-win. The extra retainer thing is shady. No argument from me, but Square doesn't consider anything related to the market or vanity or storage to be pay to win. They seem allergic to any discussions of in-game economy.

I think people throw pay to win, and don't even know what it means. Pay to win is like, paying for top end gear, or levels or a rush to endgame. Paying for a glamour item, a mount, a minion or extra storage space is not pay to win. Should we have to pay for extra storage, No not really. Its rediculous that they havent increased inventory space and retainer space. It is what it is..
