    My idea for an alternative hunt system

    Level 60 leves.

    Ok, this is my basic idea of how it would work.

    level 60 leves, cost 10 or more leve allowance with a hefty cooldown on them. Anything upto 12 hours.

    You can do them solo to get a lesser target, with a lesser reward. But, the more people in the party with the leve to link. upto an alliance, the stronger the Leve hunt mark becomes, upto equivalent of an S rank. The reward scales accordingly of course.

    No big green circle on the map to show you where it is. Random, multiple spawn points with a clue in the Leve description aiding you to the location.

    So upto 4 people link a Leve, you get from a present B rank equivalent, to a 4 person dungeon boss difficuly. 5-8 People will be equivalent of an A rank 9-24 will be an S rank. All must have the Leve in the party to boost the difficulty, and thus the reward from completing the leve.

    Or just make the item on the amber trader... No complex system, just makes useless items useful.

    1-3 B rank, 4-8 A rank, 9-16 AA(yup want a double AA rank) rank, 17-24 S rank(thougm maybe AAA might be better instead of S - leave S as special world ones). But I'd say no to all having the pop item(or as you say level) just the leader needs to have it and it's shared with all. This mixed with something someone else posted to the effect of get to the zone - which is the only clue - pop an item - find some clues about the location from it's prey, following tracks, etc... then you get to the spot where it spawns... trigger it... get a nice cutscene as well... then start blasting it...

    I feel the current Hunt system is great.

    What we need is more HP on the targets. Have the base amount of health and for every additional player past a pre-specified amount that attacks the NM, 10k-40k health is actively added to the target.

    Give monsters their own version of Thrill of Battle that stacks and lasts until they are slain.




    alternative:

    I've been saying this for a long time. Give all A ranks Odin stats, so it takes quarter of the realm to show up and kill the thing. multiply the rewards and respawn count down accordingly. S ranks even more.

    The problem most people have with the Hunt is the toxicity of the playerbase- and SE can't solve that, no matter how much anyone wants it. You can't patch human nature.

    The solution, is good intel and a good linkshell. Get those two things going and get there first. If you're getting there right when the mark is dying, either you're too slow or your intel isn't good enough.

    Hunts are fine, the real problem is another: the only way (except daily mobs) to upgrade the current equip is to zerg hunts, and ranks A are NOT designed for 8+ players.
    They should stop putting upgrades item into hunts, imho.

    Done some A ranks, when randomly encountered, in the last month of 2.5 with 3 friends of mine and that was fun because there was ZERO zerg and some fight's mechanics were enjoyables.

    Hm, I dunno, how about this?

    -Monster Mark's HP increased
    -When Hunt Monster spawns in the world there is a 5-10 min shield up on the monster that it receives no dmg until timer is up. (That way people have plenty of time to teleport in location and get to the monster without some impatient player just wanting to get the marks and get to the next location.)
    -When Hunt Monster spawns, an NPC would shout something along the lines, "HELP!!! THE TERRIBLE "NAME" IS DESTROYING THE AREA @ <pos>." (So people don't use 3rd party sites to see if a mark is up.)

    Hunted all day Saturday and got enough Centurio Seals for 1 full set - it is only real bad during peak hours and very good during odd hours (except that instance crap).
    I think it is fine the way it is now, hopefully wouldn't need them for Esoteric gear and the people doing them will die down a bit.
