    Actually, I think a "fight to the death" against an Even Match mob made sense. It's an "even match". It's as strong as you are, so the fight could go either way.

    What never makes sense to me, in any MMO, is when a mob cons as "Very Tough", or its equivalent, but your character blows through it like it was a weak, lower level enemy instead. Kinda renders the whole con'ing system pointless.

    Also have to bear in mind though, that after level 10 or so, mobs in XI are scaled for a group of players to kill, not an individual. So, it's going to be tougher to kill them than it would on a mob intended for solo play.

    Ok so after reading the entire thread from beginning to end, what started out as a seeming troll thread has turned into a bunch of text walls colliding about the same point while those who only read 3 words of the title still dropping their 2 gil.

    Apparently they still are.. So what if it has " Simulations" of other FF games just because it has a Forest/Desert/Tropical Island/Scary place ( Mor Dhona)/Grassy plains Areas.. Does that make it wrong of them to just that, when every other MMO/game does the same scenes?

    No, it doesn't, When I play FFXIV I feel like Im playing a different game, sure their are SOME similarities but over all not much. Races Roes don't have tails thus makes it unique in its own way, The Areas of course they can be simular in the aspect of other FF games? So what, I know there could be simulations there, but do I see it? No

    Maybe that's why they are " REDESIGNING" the maps, So why is the Thread even existing if they are "CHANGING" how the game looks!

    I was quite happy with the looks but I welcome change, if they feel it necessary! But I bet you 10 to 1 when the new designs are in place will get a crazy thread like this because people have nothing better to do with their lives then to compare two games, when they could be making complaints else where in the game.

    Do you need a Hug or Comfort? All this thread is doing is causing conflictions with the Community and bringing nothing to help FFXIV out and you know it!

    I realize, now, that I should have picked a different topic name. My main point was that the games were so similar to one another already that their was no logical reason to dismiss every *GOOD* idea that comes from XI fans promoting *CERTAIN* aspects of XI. However, it seems like the topic name ruined any chance of my point getting through -shouldn't have let my frustration w/ the trolls from other threads provoke me into being so cynical about my choice for the topic name of *this thread. I doubt there's any way to salvage it -every time I pop back in, to see if ppl are back on topic, too many NaBluiris, Gemmas, Raagnars, and ppl like them completely undermine what I was trying to get accomplished. And in case any of you STILL don't understand that it is this, and ONLY this, so please don't OVERANALYZE this statement:

    FFXI was a VERY GOOD MMO, iMo, and the opinion of many others. We liked it VERY MUCH, and would like to see SE draw SOME ideas from it to help fix the current problems, such as imbalance w/ the Class System and such. We DO NOT want a REPLICA of XI's JOB SYSTEM. However, we would like to see something similar come into fruition. It makes much more sense to have DoW classes capitalize on DoW type abilities. So, whether it's a Job/SubJob System, a Class System w/ SOME restrictions like DoW can only draw from other DoW actions, or **something** makes no difference to me. XI's system was *TOO restrictive. XIV is *TOO versatile -making "balance," virtually, unattainable. NO, SE does NOT have to only draw from XI to fix this problem, but imo, it would be an EXCELLENT place to start, period. Nothing more, nothing less -not nms, not leveling, not exp loss, not waiting in Jueno or Aht Urghan for 3 days trying to get a party, not a Maat cameo lol, and none of the other crap ya'll think we all want back -just ASPECTS of the job system (like no weird DoW/DoM crossovers), and kill rate/ tp dmg. That's pretty much all I actually DID like about XI.

    XI Restrictiveness made the game more Enjoyable. Bomb rushing things like XIV's Toto-Rak R25 Dungeon being steamrolled by R50's Thats not even a challenege. to me its not even about the Restrictiveness , its about what people make out of it.

    At this point this thread no longer applies to what your trying to get acrossed, even if I were to agree I can't because they are changing the scenery then Maps etc.

    Weather your like it or not this game is Turning into FF Tactics ( Class turning into a job and so forth) Which is NOT a Replica of FFXI and the Job system is more of a "Staple of FF series".

    I actually agree with you there Star, except for the last part. You can't really ask ppl to "play the right way." I don't know if I mentioned that in this thread -might have done it in the "abolish the class-system" thread. The reason I would prefer *some restrictiveness is because, like you said, it can make gameplay much more enjoyable. But XI was too restricted. It didn't allow for much versatility. Every DD had to lvl nin, and most of the were "required" to sub it. XIV let's you do whatever you want to any job, so there's no real uniqueness. All DDs are going to grab the best abs from each job and just turn them all into a generic DoW w/ their favorite wpn, basically lol

    I just don't want to see that happen. I guess it really is just speculation at this point. All I/we can really do is "hope" that they mold the class system after XI w/o completely copying it, and come up w/ some kind of really great hybrid. I realize that XI's job/sub job system wasn't perfect. I do, however, think it was superior to the class system (at least in terms of likability). I never really did the forum thing, so I don't really know how receptive everyone was to the job/sub job system in XI. Personally, if they had found a way to make war/whm (and other "unconventional" combinations) actually viable, I would have called it flawless lol....That's just me.
