They had their reason. There was a little lore bit and everything for the horses, with the eventual closing with Kirin. So on what grounds do you assume horses would come up again?

No I've only farmed the HM so far for the Card and the fight is overall easy. His Ost though in my opinion the only bad OST in an otherwise wonderful soundtrack that I will be buying.
