I agree, I don't think Lahabrea is necessarily dead, just trapped in the Eye, much as we did to Nabriales and Igeyorhm (the former of which almost broke out of the white auracite, despite his weakened state). That said, I'm getting the feeling that he could escape the moment someone uses the Eye as a way to release the aether within (like the Aetheric Ram or blade of light), and by that point he may have absorbed a fair amount amount of Nidhogg's aether. Of course, that's assuming aether in the Eyes is stored over time and not simply consumed.
