    Issue With cooking guild quest 50 (spoiler)

    Nanamo UI Namo is dead in Main Story Quest.
    Which I've done.

    Just doing the level 50 cooking quest. Who is magically alive in the quest?

    Nanamo UI Namo. Really breaks things. This CS should be changed to have someone else there if you are passed the point in the main story where she dies.

    Commendations.
    If I play dps I only give it out to other dps.
    If I play tank I only give it out to healers.
    If I play healer I only give it out to tank.

    Only if they should be getting a commendation.
    There are always exceptions to the rules!

    Story events in content outside of the main scenario quests take place in a time bubble. In other words if you are doing content that was introduced in 2.0 then the world state within that content will be regarded as though it were still 2.0. This is a necessity unfortunately as the alternative would be to either constantly update all side content to match new story developments (which would take a lot of additional development time) or have certain characters be 'safe' from harm due to their presence in other content.

    I would also advise you to progress through the 3.0 main scenario...

    SE was better then this in FFXI.
    In FFXI there was a quest that had a Tarutaru or cardian
    If you did that mission that the tarutaru died in then it was a different NPC in the CS.

    Before this becomes another FFXI vs FFXIV debate, please refer to the spoiler below.

    Nanamo is not dead, you find her alive in the Heavensward content. There's no point designing a temporary stand-in for a character that is only temporarily disabled. You never verified her life signs.


    All FFXIV quests before level 50 happen during A Realm Reborn's time bubble anyways, even Dragoon's quests are affected by this rule.

    You mean like how switching nation would magically send you back in time and result in you stopping the Shadow Lord up to three times? Or how the events from the end of Rise of the Zilart (activation of the Crystal Line) put into motion to events at the start of Chains of Promathia (the tower attempting to connect to the missing Mother Crystal and failing, releasing Bahamut), yet it was almost certain that you'd start Chains first, since Zilart required beating the Shadow Lord (which was Lv50 iirc) while Chains simply had you zoning into a tower at ~Lv20.

    Only issue I have with the Culinarian (and lesser extent the Dragoon) quests is that the developers had the perfect tool to explain away such issues; The Echo. All they needed to do was slap the 2.0 quests in an extended Echo sequence, similar to the opening quests of 1.0. Done, all continuity errors are solved. That's the kind of polish I expect from a AAA developer, but it's not much of an issue that it's apparently lacking.
