I found the op pretty funny, while most converts are just normal people, there are some moving to this game that blizzard has bread unrealistic expectations for. This has led to an increase in complaining. The number of threads whining about the msq is insane. Many came over here expecting to skip the leveling process, which is more akin to vanilla wow which I played and enjoyed. But eliminating this was the downfall. I think SE recognizes this and does not intend to repeat it.

I love the game. I love my charcter. Every now and then I just stand around (while I should go on and quest some more because I want to have such a cool astro shiny sparkly globe T___T) and look at things. At the buildings, the world around me, other characters. I enjoy taking screenshots. I enjoy all these lovely details. Like you have a button for your character to look in your direction. A pet that will lighten you and disappears if you hidet he UI. There is so much well thought things that you will only put in a game if you love it. Blizzard doesn't .. SE does.

Sorry for wall of text but emotion is going on ^^°
And OP you tell me I should leave ?
    Uhm... how about NO !
The bold part is what killed WoW for me. Blizzard gets credit for thrusting MMOs into popular culture and moving them away from the niche market, but they've never been consistent with lore, and they tend to bring elements from popular culture into the game. Hilton Paris, to me, is the reference example. It's not a bad thing per say. The NA SE team did reference Sharknado in the tooltip for a fish. However, it's clever reference you can chuckle at once, where as Blizzard's additions are more in your face, and they really cheapen the experience, turning Azeroth (for me) into less of a brutal environment and more into a playground.

FFXIV has it's warts (every game does), but it's clear the story is king, the lore is far more consistent, and SE does pay attention to detail.

Part of the issue with WoW is that end game raiding is the game. The leveling process is just a relic from the past, Blizzard could give people free level 100s in starter raid gear and people would be happy. Obviously, as we all know, that's not the case in FFXIV. I think people need to realize that the MSQ is the primary focus of the game. Raiding is there for the challenge, but the story is king.

That's what I am. I only stopped playing XI because I no longer had the time to commit to it and got too far behind my LS mates. WoW filled that gap for me because I could do almost everything solo if necessary and didnt have to commit long chunks of time in one sitting, but my heart was still with FF. When FFXIV came out, I went back to what I love.

There's some people I play with who aren't from WoW and are already "bored" with no real end game in place yet. They blasted to 60 (some have 2 to 60), farmed dungeons/extremes over and over and are now complaining there's nothing to do and hunting all day. Some people just don't give a damn about the MSQ and want the loot regardless of where they came from.

It's fine that people play this way, just don't go complaining there's "nothing to do" after you've probably put in close to 100 hours of gameplay in 1 week. It's about as bad as Diablo 3 players saying the game sucks after having put in 400 hours into the game.

You forgot those who played 1.0 and have a nice tattoo on the neck to show it to everyone ^^
