There's some people I play with who aren't from WoW and are already "bored" with no real end game in place yet. They blasted to 60 (some have 2 to 60), farmed dungeons/extremes over and over and are now complaining there's nothing to do and hunting all day. Some people just don't give a damn about the MSQ and want the loot regardless of where they came from.
It's fine that people play this way, just don't go complaining there's "nothing to do" after you've probably put in close to 100 hours of gameplay in 1 week. It's about as bad as Diablo 3 players saying the game sucks after having put in 400 hours into the game.
I would argue the difference is your paying a sub for ffxiv. No1 wants to pay a subscription for a game they don't play more than once or twice a week. MMOs have to have long lasting content to justify the subscription fee. Level and Gear grinds used to do this but they give the gear and levels away so easy it's like "okay, what now?" That's my opinion anyway.
any form of discrimination is just plain illogical.
Reaperking386, get out of our game!
But...it's basically a WoW clone already.
Long as they don't say 'toon' all the time I don't really mind them here.
'Course you did.
It's a word that refers to the character you play. "Toon" is quite literally your character.
And it's not a WoW term. I've heard it used before then, notably in EQ and Asheron's Call.
Not a fan of the term, myself.... my sister has been a WoW player for years - I could never get into it and the graphic style isn't desirable for my tastes at all >_> But that term bugs me for absolutely no reason o_O
