Was hilarious when this WHM kept DCing the other day up in WoD.
And we've had it, it was already a horrible ass run anyways.
So we talked about kicking him, he returned right after the small talk about it and boom, kicked.
Mind you he saw the part that said "Who are we kicking?" "The WHM."
5 seconds later he COMES BACK saying, "Sorry about that" me and my bestie was laughing for 30 mins! xD!
I never had that happened to me before.

Rather than a blanket block like OP is suggesting, if the blacklist system were expanded to encompass the entire data center, and df players simply are incapable of queueing with a player on anothers' blacklist.

Yes, its an extra step the person may need to take, but it would have very reliable results to fit their needs, on a case by case basis, instead of having SE implement a change that permanently legitimizes troll kicking without any fear of repercussion. Which would be a consequence of implementing OP's suggestion.
I think this is a great idea - but am honestly puzzled as to why you were the one to suggest it, as it utterly defeats what you earlier posted as the BENEFITS of the current system: the ability to rejoin a group you've been unfairly kicked from.

By using this blacklist system, if someone wants to troll-kick you from a dungeon, all they have to do is blacklist you first. Bam, you're out, and you can't rejoin because someone in the group has you on blacklist. The example you mentioned, where you rejoined a WoD run that you'd been unfairly kicked from - that wouldn't have worked, under your blacklist system.

So, yeah, I agree, this is an okay solution to the problem. It ensures that vote dismiss actually fulfills the purpose for which it was intended (to remove a member from the party, for whatever reason), and even allows for the possibility of letting a person who was dismissed to rejoin if the other party members have nothing against that person (you wouldn't be likely to blacklist someone when you kick them for being disconnected, for instance).

I don't see, though, how this improves the problem you seemed most concerned about: trolls kicking people for lulz or for profit. With blacklist, they'd be even more powerful than they are now.

Really, this whole drama is getting farcical.
Yup, it's a real shame. So many times I've seen people click "Yes, I'm ready" on a check, only to be locked out because they were actually still trying to get to the boss room.
It might have to do with the amount of popups you go through on a normal day, just going about your business alone. But I do wish people would put more thought into what they click.

    Greetings,

As a result of all of the feedback we've been receiving regarding this, I'd like to let you know that the dev. team is currently considering a system that will prevent players from returning to the same party if they were vote dismissed.

Please be sure to keep your feedback coming!

Wow didn't expect this thread to get necro bumped by a mod lol.
It's great to hear that something is being done about this.
Reading through the thread again, i realize there can be two sides to it. either a group with one toxic player that they're trying to kick legitimately or a troll group attempting to kick another player even if for no reason. In either scenario the root logic behind what i was getting at was the group (whether good or bad) had a unanimous vote that they didn't want the other player (whether good or bad) in their party, doesn't matter who was right or wrong, the point is the majority clearly did not want them in their party for whatever reason or nonreason that may be, doesn't matter who was right or wrong.

Another thing is, if you were kicked for "playstyle differences" (which often translates to making errors, sometimes one error is enough to provoke a kick) or standing up for yourself after being ripped into for an honest mistake, you don't WANT to go back to the same party anyways. As an example, I've tanked AV at least 30 times, easy. Recently, I had a brain fart and forgot to eat fruit, thus dying and triggering a wipe. I was silently vote kicked after that, and a party that would kick for a single error isn't really one I think I'd have fun running with.

As I was typing this, I realized I could just turn off "in-progress" as a stopgap measure, but still, it would be nice to just not have to worry.

In the cases of OP, its usuallya tank or healer rejoining over and over again. Since both those roles tend to be in high demand, if you wait 2min-4mins before finding new members, theres a very good chance that troll will be placed with another group.

The solution is there, people just need to know about it, spread the word.
To which I respond, I shouldn't need to waste 5 minutes on a workaround to prevent a player from circumventing the vote kick system.
